We just received the newest Patriot Napoleonic sets. We hope to have 360 images of them in the next few days.

Pete,

Those figures look very, very nice. At some point, I must add them to my collection of Napoleonics!

Warmest personal regards,

Pat

Wow the 360 imaging makes them look even better:) . Peter is there any chance you could post a picture with a patriot and a K&C figure together for comparison? Also do you know when the fourth pose will be available?
Thanks Greg

I believe Robert from Patriot said they would have three more Napoleonic figures in January - am I right on that, Robert?

Here are the two figures together (K&C NA110 and PMNA023). The Patriot figure is slighly larger - it's behind the K&C one in the image.

I'm a little disapointed that the patriot figures are even taller than the K&C figures.:( There are some interesting differences though. At that height though they would do well to make Imperial Guard.

One thing to notice is the height of the base. The Patriot figure has a taller base - which makes the whole thing taller.

Thanks Peter I think they still look great and will blend in fine. I really like the loading poses.

Thanks Pete for the 360 images and the explanation. Our bases are little taller as well as the figures. Hope you all can accept this minor difference.
Yes, Pete is right with the January releases. The 4th (biting cartridge) is among them.
Starting from next January, there'll Napoleonics each month.

In a previous post, Andy said some of his Napoleonics are closer to 1/32, so there is an argument that K&C figures are too short i.e. not 1/30 scale.:D :D :D

... On other subjects I can be more flexible. Our new Crusaders and Saracens are 1:32 scale to complement the Russian makers… K&C ‘s Alamo is closer to 1:32 than 1:30 as are our Napoleonics ... As I’ve said many times before collectors buy what they like (almost regardless of scale) but even among companies who profess to produce 1:32 there is a huge disparity of size. So at the end of the day pick and collect what you like… regardless of size and scale...

I just got my patriot napoleonics this week and was disapointed at how large they are!!!:( I thought they would be the same size as the K&C but there even bigger. I,m more of a 1/32 guy and find K&C on the large size but these are even bigger!!!
Other then the disapointment of the very large size they look great and are very well sculpted and well painted but I had no idea they would be this large.
I hope they try and scale down the size a bit before they start to do a lot of these, while the line is still new. I hoped they would be just a bit smaller then the K&C so they could mix well both with K&C and britains/frontline ect.1/32 scale. I find them looking odd next to the K&C in size there so big. The guy standing firing also has very long legs adding even more to the larger size.

Has any one else gotten these guys yet and what do you think of the size???
I think they should scale back the size a bit while the line only has a few figures, make them the same size as K&C and miniwelt,Tin bay figures.

If these were any bigger they could go with the ditzler napoleonic line which I think is 1/24 scale.
I had high hopes of mixing these into some dioramas with my other figures but I think they would look out of place.

Hi Tim,
Sorry for the disappointment. No, they are not 1/32.
And thanks a lot for your support.

Robert don,t get me wrong I think they look really great and are right up there in quality with K&C but they are REALLY BIG.
I think they would be more compatable and sell better if you made the next sets a bit smaller and try and get them to the size of K&C,Tin bay and Miniwelt then you could attract the guys who collect those figures to collect yours also and they could be used in displays together and not look out of place. I bought 9 of them, 3 of each to use with my K&C but if I had known they were going to be so big I would have only gotten just the 3.
The best time to change size would be now while the line is just started and you only have a few figures.
Thats just my suggestion and its your company to do with as you please but I,m sure there will be others that feel the same as me.
What do you other guys think??? Has any one else here gotten any yet and whats your opinion???

I just received my patriot figures in the mail from treefrog. And i have to say they did a fantastic job. the figures are made very well and the paint is great. I don't have an issue with the slight and i do mean slight differance in size. if you are looking to put them together with K&C or miniwelt just place them a bit behind them. A+++++:D

Maybe someone could just provide photos of the figures side by side....Michael

Here it is from earlier in the thread

Based on what I've been told by some Napoleonic collectors (and I don't collect Napoleonics), they complain that the K & Cs are a little too big to fit in with their 54s. If that's true, I'm at a loss to understand why Patriot would make theirs even bigger than K & C. At the very least, you'd want to make yours compatible with K & C.

For example, the Collectors Showcase, after making theirs too big and getting complaints about it, are reducing the size of their soldiers to K & C size to make them compatible with K & C. Given their lack of experience (I believe) with the toy soldier market, you can forgive that although it must be costing them money. However, Patriot is more experienced and I would think should have known better.

The difference in height between the Patriot and K & C Napoleonic figures is very small and discussions regarding this minor difference seem rather pointless imo. In fact the difference is MUCH less than the difference in actual sizes of the people in the actual battles of that period.

Tim,
Thanks for your valued input and big support.
The problem with this standing one is from the base which is slightly taller than usual, which makes a whole figure looks too tall. For this I am the one who should be accounted for.
To go for a 1/32 or 1/30, it was a tuff decision at the early stage, and somehow we finalize on the 1/30. And whether this decision is right or wrong, we can only hope for the best.
Changing the size on the next set is almost impossible at they are already in production, as well as some the 18 nappies behind them. At the moment, I’ll keep on reading your feedbacks and leave this size issue open for a later time, but not for long. After all, you all are the ones who’ll be homing of our Patriots.

Thanks Tommy and Oz for your support and Brad for your compliments but we too are still learning from the industry, everyday.

Robert
