Following John Gambale’s example it’s time to speak out.

I would like to see PEGASUS BRIDGE themed BRITISH PARATROOPERS. I would like to see some firing STEN GUNS, some firing LEE ENFIELD RIFLES, also some THROWING GRENADES would be good too. A BREN GUN TEAM is a must. Don't forget the OFFICERS too. Also we could have a diorama BRIDGE SECTION maybe. How about a RECCE jeep with mounted VICKERS GUN?
If PEGASUS BRIDGE doesn’t capture K&C’s imagination, how about MERVILLE BATTERY?
Also I’d like to see a PARATROOPER MORTAR TEAM and a PIAT TEAM. Also a VICKERS MACHINE GUN TEAM would be quite nice too.

Thank you for your kind attention

James

James may i respectfully request you be knighted for your excellant suggestion!! I would second everything you just listed.I am a huge fan of K&C and my fave collections are Eigth army,D DAY,Bulge. However my dream range scenario would have to be Brit paras at either Pegasus bridge or Merville.Stens,Lee Enfields,Bren guns, wounded, officers, jeeps and the list goes on.

Come on Andy just let us know that sometime we will be getting the Red Devils and at least then we could start discussing whats coming.

The thought of the paras in a merville diorama, charging the battery and firing their stens as they go...would willingly sell any organs i have left by then!.

Rob

And another from t'other side of the pond. I've only recently started collecting some of the K&C figures, but can state, without reservation, that I too, would sell some non vital organs, steal some more, all in order to fund a British Para 'action' range.

Spiffing.

Speaking from this side of the pond, I would live to see any or all of those issues and hope that Andy seriously thinks about something like that. He said that he started FoB to address European collecting interests. I think some of these would be a step in that direction.

Address European collecting interests? Then my French origins (the first Bousquet who came in New France was from Tonneins, near Bordeaux. He was a soldier (master gunsmith) part of the Régiment de Carignan-Salières) are still very, very strong. The FOB serie is (in my opinion) the greatest of all the WWII series that K&C is producing.

Amitiés,
Pierre:)

Pierre,
I must agree, the FOB series is one of the best, the men and machines have so much personality, and there's something special for me about the early days of the war. The blend of the old world and the revolutionary German war machine.

How about some personality figures to go along, such as General Windy Gale, Lieutenant Brotheridge (the first Allied casualty of Normandy at Pegasus Bridge) or Lt. Col. Ottway. Better still, how about Stan Hollis, who won the only VC on D Day and demonstrated incredible courage. Maybe he would make a good club figure. Instead of focusing on villains, let's focus on some heroes.

Second that Brad,Stan Hollis or Windy gale would be great.

Rob

For me the main thing is that they are figures in action poses.

Oh yes that would be the main thing, action poses and lots of em!.Think of all the sets we could have....the mind boggles.

Rob

It would also give us the chance for some new non ss Germans.Riflemen and perhaps an MG team. What must have it been like for the ordinary german soldier that night, hearing that aerial armada heading your way and all you've got is a rifle!.

Rob

Was Pegasus Bridge the bridge the British 6th airborne paratroopers landed at on the night before D-Day?

Yes, although I think technically it was D Day. Incidentally, the scene in the Longest Day was filmed at the actual bridge. The actual bridge is no longer in use. It was replaced by another bridge and the old bridge is on the site of the Pegasus Museum.

Here are some photos from the Pegasus Museum. This is the Bridge on the Museum grounds.

Here is a model of the taking of the Bridge that is inside the Museum.

Here is a photo of the Horsa Glider on the Museum grounds. They're restoring another.

Brad,

You are right. The British Airbone Troops landed at 00h20, June 6 1944. The lieutenant Brotheridge and his men crossed the bridge over the Orne (Brotheridge became the first Allied soldier to be killed in action during D-Day).

The bidge is now called Pegasus to honor the British Paratroopers whose insigna was representing Bellerophon riding Pegasus.

The Café Gondrée, near the bridge, is considered the first house to have been liberated in France and Ranville the first village.

Pierre.

I add my thumbs up to a Pegusus Bridge release, if for no other reason than Andy hasn't done any British Paras since the second Arnhem release, and I would love to see them done in todays superior sculpting and painting. A Bridge and some new paras would look great with my K&C Horsa Glider, so count me in.
