Re: AK085 Daimler Dingo Armoured Car (Afrika Korps version)

What a great little collection...and lots of happy memories too. Thankyou Pauck for posting your pix!
It's often fun and a wee bit nostalgic to look back at production from 'all our yesterdays' ...and see the development and transition since. The Afrika Korps has always been an interest of mine ever since a wee boy in Scotland in the dim'n'distant 1950's...A relative, one of my Uncles served with the 8th. Army from 1941 all the way through till '43 and said the AK were some of the finest soldiers he ever fought against!
Best wishes and happy collecting, Andy.

Thank you Andy. :salute::
Afrika Korps is my absolute favorite in your ranges

Nice collection friend. I have all these pieces exept for the desert tiger. Those were the days when this stuff was affordable and you could add several pieces every month to build up your collection, now the prices have gone into orbit and lost touch with reality and i have to worry if there is something in each months new dispatches that i really want instead of worrying that there will be nothing i want...!!!!!!!......How times change.

Thank you. It needs very long time and searching many ebay sides and online shops to get this items for more or less reasonable prices

Hi Enrico,
Many thanks for posting your AK pix displays....I love to see that Italian Askari figure in there...If I have one small regret it is that more collectors did not go for our "Askaris"...I think they are some of the best action figures K&C have ever produced and...some of the most colourful (no pun intended).
Some time in the future, who knows when...they might even be a few of the most collectible..?
Congratulations on your display and pass on my best regards to all our friends in Milano!
Happy collecting, Andy.

Hi Andy,
I’m so happy to receive your message. I’m going to share, little by little, the pictures of my whole collection. I completely agree with you what you have written about the Askari figure. The best things in life don’t always are appreciated! Who knows, maybe one day…they could be worth a fortune ....
I cant’ wait to see you again in Novegro. I’ll be there with bells on! I shall give our friends your best.
Best regards
Enrico

Hello again.....Sorry that i seem to have sidetracked the original intention of your thread. You have as i rightly stated a really nice AK collection and i hasten to add KC has made some great stuff from the North African campaign. There is a saying in Holland of some people having long toes..!! and whatever you do or say somehow you seem to always stand on those long toes..!!. The only point i was making when i mentioned the "GOOD OLD DAYS" was that (for me) this was the time that KC was affordable and in my mind worth the price. I can appreciate that times have moved on and all things change, KC is obviously no exeption. I have been a KC collector (WWII) almost from day one and i have a beautifull collection which i am very proud of, I would have liked to added the new Soviet tank to my collection but with pain in my heart i have decided not to buy....WHY..?? simple
for me it is not worth the asking price......Please note>>i said FOR ME. We all have less or more to spend on our hobby"s and i hope there are loads of collectors who run out and buy this model but i will pass. All things in life have a price, but there is a point where that price exeeds the value we have for the item. I will keep watching KC for the WWII items i would love to see released and then i will have to ask myself.....Do i want this at any price or not..!!!!!.....I hope you read this also Andy and understand my standpoint.

I agree that the king and country ascari are very well done. They represent the italian ascari in AOI ( italian oriental Africa, Eritrea, Somalia). So they can be useful for a diorama taking place in Ethiopia, but not really historically suitable for a diorama taking place in northern Africa, Lybia, etc.
The libyan ascari wore the hat ( tachia) and uniform as the photo below.

I'm sorry, I've made a little historical mistake but... that Ascari soldier has been lost!!! Can I leave it so lonely? I would, if could and I schould but I can't !!!:rolleyes::rolleyes:

AK029 Rommel's Greif Commanding Halftrack

I had last month the chance to get Rommels SD.Kfz. 250/3 Leichter Funkpanzerwagen for resonable price so I add the pictures.
Had to made some reparations and certificate is missing but in the past I think nearly 80% of my K&C buys had chips, broken parts etc.
