Photos from the 2014 show (2 Viewers)

OK, one quick one, out of sequence, yours truly (r) and my buddy Scott Hershbell (l), tending bar at the hospitality suite Saturday night:

Thanks to new Grand Master Penny Meyer for the photo!

We offer the hospitality suite Friday and Saturday nights, and it's great to mingle with our friends from the hobby, patrons, vendors and artists. Some of these folks, we see just once a year at the show, although we're usually in daily contact online. But face-to-face can't be beat. We went till 1:30 Saturday morning, and 2 Sunday morning. Then got up and did it all over again :D

Prost!

More to follow, later....

Hi Brad,

Great looking photos! I really liked seeing the gamagoat haven't seen one of those babies in a long time. The panzer 4 is also well done and enjoy seeing interior work on these vehicles. Looks like it was a great show. I certainly hope to get them when we return to the states.

@George I will PM you soon with the info I am looking for on Mr Rocco.

Thanks guys

Dave

Interestingly enough, we are missing the Best of Show miniature. Here is the one from the historical category. I understand that the decision was quite controversial:

"Wings of Darkness" by Mike Blank

Wonderful work of an Italian artist on the subject Alice in Wonderland.

1. Cards vs Alice ( part of diorama)
2. The mad Hatter
3. The White Rabbit

"I really loved that Alamo display. I was wondering what it was doing with the other exhibits. I did not know they had Toy Soldier displays like this. Excellent.

In response to the above post from earlier in the string, I also entered a bust of Monty I painted as a tribute to the 70th anniversary of the D-DAY landings. Note I added a couple complementary King & Country pieces to add a little interest to the display (K&C pieces were not to be considered in the judging).
So to answer your question, Yes there can be a mix of Painted figures and commercial pieces in a show. I actually think they work quite well together.

I have done this at other shows. The lower photo is from a display I did of Painted busts of WWII Military Leaders and some additional eye candy of K&C figures .
