pictures from the desert war? (1 Viewer)

I liked that one too! I can't remember now but I had one too - Airfix?

Don't think Airfix ever did a Beaufort although they did do a pretty good (for the time) Beaufighter. Naaa....I'm sure the Beaufort I had was an item issued by Frog, who I believe have been long-defunct. I think the attraction for me was the Beaufort appeared in a few of those wee war comics and illustrated the "gallantry and courage" of our aircrew at a time when the quality of our aircraft wasn't quite up to scratch (with some obvious exceptions). For the same reason, I also had a soft spot for the Fairy Battle - awful bomber though it was.
On a lot of occasions, I seem to remember preferring Frog over Airfix. Think it was because the plastic was a bit softer and easier to work with.

Cheers

The Royal Artillery played a vital part in the WW2 desert, with key importance at Beda Fomm when the Italian Army surrendered but also in every other battle including Sidi Rizergh and skirmishes with the famous 'Jock Columns' named after 'Jock' Cambpell.

Kevin

I'm thoroughly enjoying your guided tour through the North Afrian desert. It's like one of those adventure serials I used to see at the cinema in the 1950s.

Randy, good of you to say so but I am not sure that 'guided' is the word?:) Kind of Louis though, much of this is what we shot last summer of his collection. Keeping the best back for the book!

The following are Tamiya 1/35 kits built by Bill Evans and Don Skinner which appear in the Encyclopedia of Military Modeling which was first published back in 1981. Having built these kits myself way back when which to my regret I no longer have I thought it fiting to post these seeing that they are currently being done and featured by the makers of toy soldiers. I'm sure you'll agree that they've been nicely done and they're my contribution to WWII photo dios being done......The Lt.
