Earlier this year a thread was placed on this forum showing a Porsche Tiger and Panther with MKIV turret being railed somewhere to Easter Front (Porsche Tiger isn't the one with red arrow)

After some discussions with some modeller friends we decided to give it a try to recreate this photograph, starting with the Porsche Tiger.

This is the end result

After starting this journey, we found

a Mark Felton Production story on 003 the only Porsche Tiger (Command) that was active on the Eastern Front with 50 kills before it was lost so worth viewing that story.

We are yet to decide on numbering, but we now have that number if we choose.

How this Tiger was developed, Phil Charlwood here in Brisbane is developing his 3D print skills and agreed to do a Ferdinand Hull and a Tiger turret as no programs available to do a full Porsche Tiger and this is what we started with

Very much appreciate what Phil was able to achieve, we had to start some where.

My great friend and fantastic modeller Ray Kingston agreed to take task on and first thing was finding photographs or diagrams of a Porsche Tiger

From this and research we know that turret is located forward on the hull and that the Ferdinand Hull was lengthened to fit its gun so we had to lower hull and shorten

The 3D print on the inside is a honeycomb so Ray had to rebuild the rear.

We were also lucky we still had some left over Tiger parts from a Eagle Design model and a Berg Tiger Kit that we had previously used to do a 1/30 scale Berg Tiger

So by using parts, accessories and remodelling Ray worked on getting a model as close as possible to photo of Porsche Tiger

From what Phil was able to produce (is working on tracks for the Panther with MK IV turret), Ray has done a great job and I very pleased to have this in my tank collection.

They have however stated never again but we will see.

Trust you like this journey and the end result

Mark
