Portugal and Spain Tour (1 Viewer)

I’m sure members would like to see non military photos. People are not one dimensional here :wink2:

The model of the bullring reminds me of Las Ventas where I went a few times. My father had his office near there. Every day on the way to work he’d stop at a restaurant near the bullring and have a cafecito (small cup of coffee).

Hi Victor,

Thanks so much for sharing these photos. I enjoyed seeing every one of them! I have never travelled outside of the USA so your photos of these wonderful places intrigues me immensely.

That Art Girona Miniatures store looks great and I bet it was hard resisting buying things there!

Feel free to share more pics and as Brad said in the above post, we love more than just military stuff. I think most of us here on the forum are lovers of history of all sorts.

Hi Brad and Mark,

Thanks for your interests and comments on the tour.

I didn't get to visit the Las Ventas Bullring. There were just too many things to experience in Madrid alone.

Soldadomania very kindly offered for me to visit his place just outside Madrid (what a collection !!!) and I had to decline.

In fact, at Girona, there was an annual Girona figure show which I had just missed by a few days! You can view the show on this link.

I'll try to raid my wife's hp for the other better pics (Huawei...:) Mine was the Apple..:):):)

Victor,

Looks like the visit of a life time. I was wondering if you saw any Roman bridges?
Steve

Hello Steve,

Definitely one of the best trips for me! I'll backtrack and show you a Roman bridge we saw at Cordoba. This was modified during the medieval period.
Basically Portugal and Spain is all about Romans, Visigoths, Moors, Knight Templars, Reconquista, Tercios, the Spanish Empire, Civil War and Game of Thrones.
Many of the Roman ruins were built up and fortified during the medieval period, so there was a mixture of styles. The only authentic Roman structure I remember was the aqueduct at Segovia.

Meanwhile, here are three rare metal kits which I had acquired from the Girona shop.
