Your points well taken and we are definitely on the same wavelength regarding Winston.

Regarding "Can you imagine never having heard of 'Zulu'"

Now you can see just how hard my job is Down Under :D:D

Regards
Brett
PS I am not getting a good reaction from Wayne and Simmo about my new sales policy. Seems they do not want to buy a Churchill figure with every German item. Seemed like a good idea at the time.

Who....................?

Not to worry Brett, pack em up and send them over here, they'll sell here;).

Actually now they've made Monty in Normandy maybe they should make another Churchill figure too,Monty looks a bit out of it just stood on his own!

Rob

Oh you tell fibs Brett I loved the big Churchill figure and will get my wife to get one when shopping. It looks great and very life like.Simmo.

Rob,when you say you have no time for revisionists, apologists and the like ,that does not mean that their views should not be aired on this forum, like yours are often aired, you do not have the absolutist view on WW2,dont forget revision and apologies for WW2 started in 1946,when the politicians decided that "Churchills,Curtain of iron,Communist threat " was now more important than having West Germany and Japan as an enemy.History is full of examples of political shiftings eg churchills decision to deal with communist Soviet Union knowing fine well their deplorable record at home and in eastern europe, just ask the brave poles who lost relatives at Katyn Forest, remember those brave poles who stood alone with the British in 1940.Churchill told the polish exiled govt, when Katyn was dicovered,to grow up and see the bigger picture and what was at stake and not to rock the boat with the soviets.People on the forum collect model figures,so when they press the order button they are ordering models not ordering the destruction of thousands of humans, perhaps perpective is necessary here, this is a Toy soldier forum not the United Nations.

Ok guys I should just explain something here I think.I have just had a message telling me that Mr Forlornhoper has once again attacked my beliefs and apparently my right to post them. You see following his spoiling of a thread I was really enjoying some weeks back I placed him on my ignore list and therefore cannot see anything he posts.

I have no idea what he actually posted about me but I'm guessing Churchill was a monster etc,he has every right to post anything he likes, this is a free and open forum. I have enjoyed my usual jousting with my fellow Australian members, wouldn't be normal if me and Wayne didn't argue now and again;).I guess its lucky the Ashes arn't on at the moment!;).

If my sometimes over the top pride has offended anyone I apologise,be it Wayne or indeed Mr Forlornhoper.(I also apologise if my 'German lover' remark was over the top Wayne).

All the best guys

Rob

Rob ,i did not attack your beliefs nor the right to post them ? ,i merely gave an alternative to your post ,i thought that was the spirit of the forum, that all opinions and views could be aired,it was not my intention to offend your sensitive nature,it is history we are discussing, not you as an individual. If you enjoy "jousting" as you said ,why have "ignore"on my posts, everyone has different views that you accept ,but you seem to exempt my views for consideration,at no time do you have to agree with all views, but you still have to hear/see/debate them, surely. I find it rather strange that you can post a comment on something you have NOT read, there is no need to apologise for expressing your view, did you not say " i have no time for apologists" in an earlier post lol.I personally avidly read your posts as iam sure many others do on the forum and always look forward to your views as i do with others, perhaps you should consider giving me the same respect,we may not share the same view on history but we do share an interest in history and military miniatures, a commonality that hopefully will lead us to be friendly to each other,i will look forward to your next post on the forum, written with respect and all humility ,ken

A very good friend of mine on this forum just wrote to me and told me I was wrong to ignore your posts Ken,and having read your latest post I see he was right as were you.I offer you my genuine apologies.I did not mean to either show you any disrespect or offend you in any way.As I said before sometimes my pride in my country and the pain that my mother went through get the better of me and it all just bursts out!.I would never set out to try and impose my view or shout down any other member, again 'over enthusiasm' sometimes runs away with me.

Once again Sorry Ken. (Wayne as well)
