Yes. It is removable to suit various different diorama options.

The driver is removable from the winter version so I would have to assume it would be the same for the tropical version as well.

Yes he is. If its a stand alone piece without the steering wheel attached that would be nice.

The winter version of the 88 also comes with 5 figures so hopefully this one has the same.

That has been discussed but some believe it would just put the entire set 88, prime mover and riders (if produced) at a price that is just not on par with the average collectors budget. My feelings on that is I would snatch up the riders, if you can't afford all three then just get the 2 and pick up the riders down the road.
