compositesoldiers 001a.jpgHi All,

I thought it was time I shared some of the Toy Soldiers I found since we moved to Germany. These were the first ones i came across at a very small antiques and militaria store in Bavaria.

1 Grenade Man cant think of a better title since he is totally festooned with stick grenades! He is by a company called Armee. I got him mainly because he was such a great pose.

2. The first marching figure is marked F.F. and I am at a loss for who he might be by. I thought he was interesting because unlike the others he has a solid mass as a support as opposed to individual legs. They tried to make it look like he was walking in tall grass.

3. The middle marching soldier with his rifle slug on his shoulder is by Leyla.

4. The far right hand soldier marching at Slope Arms is by Elastol"n I really like the painting on this figure because of the detail in the red stripe on the trousers and his general appearance.

Hope to have some other interesting figures to post soon.

Enjoy

Dave

Nice to see some of the older figures on this site. I'm a log-time collector of Elastolin and Lineon composition figures. They're great! The action poses and accessories for these figures were a great inspiration to me at a time when it was hard to get much else in the States besides marching Britians. Thanks for posting!!

do you ever come across tin military vehicles???

A little additional info...

The Armee figure is a poor copy of a Lineol figure.
I have several of the figure marked FF and I have only seen them in that marching position. I may be possible the only figure they produced.
The Leyla fogure is also a poor copy of a Lineol figure. Also note that he is a Luftwaffe figure wearing field blue uniform.
The Elastolin figure is earlier that the war. He is wearing the Reichswehr (1919-1935)uniform. Note the red cuffs and red stripe on his pants.

It's good to see some composition figures posted here on the forum. Thanks!

Hi Guys,

Glad that some other guys find these as interesting as I do. I havent seen any tin type vehicles but if I do I will let you guys know. I am sure they will be pricey. I also enjoy the differences in the styles and painting. I also noticed the earlier uniform on the Elastolin Figure its partly why I picked him out of the box.

Well I will keep you all posted on my finds and let you know of any new discoveries.
