Predator/Prey Movie (1 Viewer)

Anyone seen the latest Predator movie 'Prey', what did you think of it?

It's set in America in early 1700's, main plot is usual Predator landing on Earth to waste a few locals. Of course there's the usual modern trend of strong Female character challangeing an Oppressive (Native American) Patriarchy. However there's additonal barriers for her to overcome including aggresive wildlife together with invading French trappers. Who knows what they're saying as no translated subtitles, but clearly they're the Bad guys as they're over the top out of control and not as handsome or as clean cut as the locals.

The movie scores high in most reviews, including audience approval. It's not that Great, but neither is it Bad or too in your face with the Anti Male 'message'. In fact I'd say it was OK, which apparently is an expression early French Trappers used, who knew ^&grin

It wasn't released to Cinema, went straight to streaming, it's on Hulu in the USA. We dont have Hulu in Australia, I found it by accident on Disney plus that I have for my sons who are Star Wars fans. The movie starts a bit Disney but the violence escalates.

Decided to watch Prey again, at night as first time was during the day which isn't ideal visually. Certainly much better second time around, would even say it's pretty good.

Regarding the French Fur Trappers, now that I have since seen the French translations it's more obvious they were a nasty lot, but still not as tough as early Predator dude.

Agree mate I enjoyed it after your first review dint even know there was a new one so thank you.

Obviously, the first one was the best but this would be on par with 2nd one I enjoyed it, typical wonder woman **** but apart from that which I feel was overdone, it was good.

Wayne, I first became aware of the movie when I watched a short pre-review of it on a Youtube channel named 'The Critical Drinker' that is owned by a Scottish Guy that is overly keen on Bourbon...etc. I mostly agree with him, maybe I'm biased being a fellow Bourbon lover ^&grin I subsequently noticed it as a new release on Disney +, have watched it Three times so far, I'd rate it as a close Third in the Predator series.

I agree, the Heroine does have some Wonder Woman attributes which sadly is now in every new movie, but she's not perfect in her fighting abilities for example she's crap at archery {sm3}

Mark, I'm pleased you liked it, I know there's a few Sci Fi fans on the forum and thought the movie may be overlooked by some members as it was not released in cinemas.
