Production numbers v popularity (1 Viewer)

Agreed Louis. SL should always be a set number, no changes. If 1000 is the number agreed on than every SL release should be at that number. If 750 than so be it but stick to it with every SL release. I would think that every SL would sell out and Andy wouldn't have to worry about demand not being there just as long as they are as good as the previous release.
Going back now and producing another 250 of the Grief would definitely cause some uprising's....

The difficulty in accurately predicting demand for a particular item was a topic of conversation raised by Mike Neville of K&C, UK during Andy's Q&A session. Mike said he wished they could have a crystal ball to predict demand. I commented that Steven Chong's suggestion of pre-orders with deposits might serve as such a crystal ball. Andy rejected the idea, but admitted he made a mistake in issuing thr Grief as limited to 750. He commented that, as is sold out in less than 24 hours, he could have made it a limited run of 1500. While this pleased the dealers present, we collectors insisted that "strictly limited" sets must be 1000 or less.

As the military miniatures produced by K&C are by essence limited, 1000 exemplaries is too much to have the appellation Strictly Limited. I think that 1 to 500 could be SL, 1 to 1000 could be limited and a set without any appellation: then everybody will knows that it will run 'til Mr. Neilson decides to withdraw it from the market. Only a reflexion.

Pierre.
