Hi Randy
A couple of questions.
You mention LVT 1's being correct, is this just pertaining to this beach ?
As I've read that LVT 2's were also used though in fewer numbers which I've been using for my diorama since there aren't any Figarti LVT 1's for sale, where the cost of postage and customs and Post office dues don't double the cost same with old K&C LVT 2's !
Presumably the higher LVT id's numbers would be the LVT 2's as newer equipment delivered to the Marines ?
Randy afraid wanting totally correct kit for the marines while would be ideal looks like wewon't be getting it as missing backpacks as you know the new K&C Marines don't have, keep costs down and same goes for cammo gear.
I've still got a lot to do with my dio with building more trees, sand bags, shell holes etc.
Plus I've got other projects on the go like the Barbarian castings that have arrived and need painting up for a Roman dio !
Hopefully we'll get to see a few more Tarawa / PTO dioramas !
Have you made one yourself ? if so can you upload a few pics please even if you are still in the process one as it's good to get ideas to bounce off other forum members with !
All Best
Steve

Army loved adorning these and their armor with big white stars,Marines eschewed
this as Japs used them as aiming points.

(Will someone please make a 37mm gun?)
All K&C,Britains,Conte,CSC,Frontline,Figarti G.Is et.al.have been converted to
jarheads,re-equipped,re-painted..some re-posed.
Conte plastic G.I.s were a hoot to enlist..some re-armed,added equipment.
Have yet to assemble all the Airfix multi-pose kits.
Am also doing 1918 AEF vs.Krauts in same manner...Be nice to have a warehouse to set these up.
However in New York State we frown on historic war violence,AMERICAN history and allow only dioramas of
tree-hugging and May Pole dancing..pity.
Hey ,take care Steve! Happy Thanksgiving!
