Added stirrups. I think this looks pretty good. So I will let it dry for now and concentrate on the other horsemen.

Thanks. Still more to do ....sigh....

Ive decided to work on these 5 horsemen as a first batch. The poses are all finalised. Notice that the shortened horses create foreshortening (visual perspectives) and saves on space.

There is some artistic license in creating the back portions.

Now to add the details as closely as I can to the actual ptg.

Ive kept these 5 figs in the same orientation so that you can see how I build up the details.
Pouch belts, arms, shakos, neck collars and shabraques are being built up. Some horse heads are tilted when I cf against the ptg.
One of the horse (my fav of this lot) has had the mane removed and a tail added. The hussar is hatless. A very dynamic pose.

Worked more on two of the figs in this batch. Shako peak, fur trim on pelisse, Tightening the sleeves, pouch belthorse mane, valise etc

I slapped some basic acrylic paint on these two figs. Easier to visualise and see what esle needs to be done.

I live for pelisses. It must be in our chinese genes. We produce most of the world's toy soldiers. hahaha.

Here is my one man production line. hohoho.

All basic ptd in acrylics. Then eventually overptd with oils.

The 2nd pix is the trumpeter. Ive added a cut down historex trumpet

The odd anatomy is due to my attempt at foreshortening to achieve visual perspectives.

Ive mtd the figures onto thick wires (hidden side) for handling when painting in oil paints.

The figs are posed to show approx the viewing sides.

Now adding the sabretache and sword to the main fig. Really difficult esp trying to curl the d..... slings.

I discovered an anomaly. He is wielding a mameluke sword but the scabbard is a standard French hussar item. The curvatures are not identical.....

Sigh, it takes a Historex reference (Eugene Leliepvre) to correct the master French military expert Eduarde Detaille.

Anyway, Historex does produce a mameluke scabbard. I just ran out of spares..... The main differences between a mameluke scabbard and a typical french line trooper scabbard are the curvature and that the mameluke scabbard has circular discs ornaments on the sword sling hinges.

So as a mildly amusing diversionary exercise (as if I didnt have enuff to do), I added circular discs to the French scabbard. I also added some wires and flounders to just under the neck.

Production ptg of ponies on a carousel. Would y believe it if I told you that I put this on a spinner and twirl the base around? I like to mess with yr minds... hahahaha.

The next lot are now getting smaller. These are 28mm wargames figs being converted.
