After David Bowie, another "icon" went away, Prince. The death of these "myths" still young in the 80ies, makes me feel how time passes fast and how life is short and fragile.

was never a big fan of his...but sorry to see him pass at the tender age of 57...

Poor fellow. In the year 2016 he died from the flu?
Gary

Prince could rake with best of them, Purple Rain the movie and the soundtrack are both iconic, his performance at halftime of the Super Bowl several years ago in a downpour is as good at it gets.

I grew up on his music in the 1980's, pretty sad.....................

Very sad, a nice guy by all accounts and very talented. Most likely took too many prescription drugs for his flu symptoms, not the first star to go that way, time will tell.

Didn't think much of his music, guess I'm to much a Zeppelin / Floyd fan, but always sad to see the passing of one who contributed to the soundtrack of so many lives.
Wayne.

He did make some good music but he had a penchant for sexually explicit lyrics. So much so, that I was very surprised to read he was a devout Jehovahs Witness. I wonder if anyone ever had him knock on their door at the weekend offering copies of The Watchtower?
