Pvblivs: the Hundred Year's War (1 Viewer)

I positioned this set as Battle of Azincourt, but today Publius told me wht it is Battle of Poitiers.

They look nice, BUT what size are they? Let's see some comparisons. Particularly to the Airfix figures.

Nice figures,
But they are hard to get, and just to darn expensive nuff said!

Maybe expensive but not hard to get...:)

There is no commercial outlet for these figures here in the UK and can only be obtained thru e-bay, even then only payment in US dollars working out at almost
£6.00 GBP per figure with postage and that excludes potential import tax as they are coming from a non EU country. Great shame as they do look like great figures.

That is almost $10.00 per figure in unpainted plastic ,wonder how many will buy/paid x it.{eek3}
They had increase price often. The sets come out of any pack or case loose in cheap clear bag, the plastic is very stiff and extremely fragile, I had few sets arrive w damage and others buyers complain. I stop carrying/buying, not worth the price the plastic, sorry Engineer Batsevitch are much better plastic, more poses and figures per price and inside nice historical painted cases/box.
We as collector should stop this way of trying push up prices on simple well done unpainted figures of plastic, I feel is shame/scam doing this even at short run limited production. I felt should not be accepted and people refuse paid so irrational price, if figures were nice hand or factory painted I may understand the price. But not this. Sorry;no way Jose!!!:rolleyes2: My thoughts.

No hard to get if you got the deep pocket willing to waste right!!?

I think we all agree that the figures are well done; it's really the price that is the issue. I do want to say something about the plastic. Some of the figures are a brittle plastic (The WW2 Russians and the Vikings), but most are a soft, pliable plastic that is not subject to breakage. I have most of the Publius figures.

They are beautiful figures, but at the prices they charge, I am never going to buy any Basevich or Pvblivs figures. I don't even buy the ExForce figures because of the price. There are plenty of other figures out there that may not be quite as finely sculpted, but which are far more affordable. I can get two or more sets of other brands containing more soldiers for the price of only one of these sets. Also, the stories about the brittle plastic on some of these is a real turn-off. If they are going to charge that much, you should at least be assured of getting them in a nice soft and durable plastic.

Nice effort guys, but if you lowered the cost I am sure you would make much more money in the end as probably every plastics collector alive would be buying multiple sets of these great figures, rather than a small number of the wealthier guys buying one set each.

Bingo. What Bid Kahuna said. These sets are cool, but I've not got that kind of budget for toy soldiers. It is more imperative to take care of the bills first. Just too much for a hobby. The sets from Nick at TSSD and CTS are much more in line with reality.

SOME????
Sorry .I disagree in the sets with bad plastic. Almost all are in bad quality plastic done.
,the last polish and Teutonic sets,the crusades/Saracen , Normand, two different Viking sets,ww2 Russian two sets, two 100 years war knights sets and samurai are all fragile plastic, specially the swords ,tip of rifle ,they had easily brake in many sets wile receiving by me and others buyers.I have all of them and ended repairing many figures with glue out of three separated shipping. They were well packed together with Engineer SETS that did not arrive damage at all but actually inside cardboard boxes. PVBLIVS come in simple zip log cheap bags from maker/factory.
Only the early 2 d Teutonic and romans sets were done in very good quality ,all resent are not. They need to PAID attention to this soon as if their sets have 5 to 6 figures ONLY and are high priced than those of competitive brand EB ,then they should least give better quality than breakable MATERIAL-THAT in my opinion is SCAM=ROB of money for bad quality product.
WE are talking about new plastic toy soldiers ,not art museum statues or minifigures replicas painted.
they are suppose to be use for play and be more manageable. This is plastic. If the price of a piece of bad plastic is $8-10.00 USD I consider a shame to the hobby.

I had many confirmation and email regarding damaged figures received in transit.

This is very strange. I reiterate what I said before--I have all the of the Publius sets--and only the vikings and WW2 Russians (OK, maybe another set that has escaped my memory) have been in a hard, breakable material. The Vikings and Russians are made of different material from each other. All the other sets are a nice unbreakable plastic. I could even step on some of these figures and they wouldn't break. I always wondered why the Vikings are made of such a different material. But this raises a totally new question. It seems that many other collectors, based on Fritz' comment, are getting highly breakable figures, some of which are probably the same figures that I have received in unbreakable plastic. If so, why is the producer running the same sets in two different types of material? That seems almost unbelievable, but might be the case. Any ideas?
BTW, none of the highly fragile figures I have received have ever some broken and I have ordered them all from Russia.

I can list a lot of person with their email/name to make comment about it and their experience. But because privacy rules and personal trust I can not here. I order to resale and after minor test in experience dealing with what I receive damaged ,had to fix myself and other after they got what I had sent I stop. On eBay sales on few Russian sellers as most are ,there several negative feedback regarding the matters. Just take some time google eBay sellers and their feedback and will read it too.
By searching others forum, complain in figures about it quality of plastic is a lot.
The sets had been stop been carry by many of few resellers out of Russian because of this issue plus extreme high price per 5-6 figures wile EB sets are still resale around.
There some who had not received them broke, of course me too in some sets out of luck.But the plastic is fragile ,very hard-stiff and made tip and thing part fragile due to this.
Once again EB soft plastic is much better, early 2 roman and Teutonic PL were as well.
I do not mention entire figure but extension(arms, legs and specially weapons)primary as to be breakable in most cases. Not the bulk of body figure please.
However....
About stepping on it and not brake it; that was so funny!!. Please don't do it or you know you need to glue it back.{sm4}^&grin.It will happen the same as if you step on STARLUX figure!!;)
Most plastic figures if step over will be crushed unless pure rubber or you weight less than 10 pounds.
But the joke was relaxing!!!{sm4}
Best regards...:salute::

I am not here to argue with you nor even disagree with what you say. I have simply tried to add to the discussion by relating MY experience.
Your rudeness regarding my comments is uncalled for.
