The Vickers machine gun fired the standard British rifle cartridge of .303 at a rate of 450 rounds per minute. This weapon was originally adopted before the war and went to the mainland in 1914. Improvements were made based on the practicle experience of the battlefield resulting in a more durable and slightly lighter design. It quickly earned the nickname "Queen of the Battlefield" by the British Machine Gun Corps and although surpassed by newer, lighter weapons like the Lewis Gun, it soldiered on well into the mid twentieth century.
Our new Vickers gun comes complete with a scenic base and accessories and will be part of our Fall Collection.
All the best,
Ken Osen

That's exactly what I was asking for when I saw you in Toronto. Small scenic bases for use with the figures. Looking forward to this.

Terry

Ken, not my era, but very nice none the less. I also like the idea of a separate base and accessories with figures when possible. Chris

This set arrived at my door yesterday. An exceptionally well done Limited Edition set . . . . .

Ken; W. Britains is certainly setting a new standard of quality under your auspicies! Did you sculpt the excellent Osprey Art series?
