Question about retirement (2 Viewers)

Are you always this sarcastic to your customers? I don't think I was that far off & came to the conclusion by sheer observation. But, it is nice to hear it straight from the horse's mouth.

I've been a collector of one thing or another for a great number of years. Started with Toy Soldiers before WWII put it a side for sometime. Put over 24 years in the military retired in 1976. Finely got back to toy soldiers went to K&C about 4 years ago.

It seem to me that lately a lot of people on this forum are trying tell Andy how they want him to run his company, at least he talks with his customers that more any other type business do. If we were stock holders it would be a different story.

I have met Andy one time and found him to a straight talking person that wanted to produce to best product he can at the best price. I think we need to less critical unless we have a real problem.

What difference doe it make if retires an item or not. If you collecting for a investment you better switch to stocks & bonds.

He's king of the hill, no question, he's taken a risky venture and made it very lucrative.
Much of what is written is complimentary to the extreme, but.....
Perhaps he reads too much of his own press, if you go to all of these forums and read all the conjecture and advice and complaints and whining and moaning and mis-information and how he should run his business and what he should or should not make.
In the end he's an artist and all things King and Country are his baby.
I consider his interaction great fun, you should see it that way too. For gods sake the man answers you personally! how much better does it get?
And besides I think he's got that British sense of humor thing.
He's nipped a couple of my ideas in the bud with the same sort of dismisiveness and he has considered a couple as well and will tell you straight.
I have met him twice and he was very personable.

No I'm not a personal guard. I am just a collector who believes that any person has the right to run his or her company the way they want to.
I don't have the right to make a bad public comments about someone. It does say a lot about the person making the comment.

He explained how the retirement system is working and then you just come with your big clogs claiming that you know better how it works than the one who's taking the decisions. Again, who are you? Or should I ask who do you think you are?

Geez mate, those centurions really gave you a good going over, sometimes they get a bit over zealous in their duties, but don't let them keep you down for to long

You will find a variety of viewpoints on this forum as it's the nature of forums. For example there are some very keen King and Country collectors that can see no wrong in any of King and Country's products or policies. And there are others that believe the policies are a conspiracy to take over the model collecting world. There are even a few people that just want to make money out of King and Country as resellers on eBay - and I don't need to name names. I think Andy C, and his wise and silent partner, just want to supply quality collectable figures at a reasonable price. Andy is clearly passionate about his hobby/business and perhaps sometimes says things he regrets (I've done it a few times myself).

And remember folks, just because you can't hear the silent majority, don't forget they are still out there watching and buying, or not buying as the case may be.

Btw, Shannon, Brad and Andy C. I suggested on another thread that a sticky thread with a brief history of King and Country and their reasons for using polystone and retiring products etc may reduce unneccesary speculation and conflicts. What do you think?

OzDigger, I think that your suggestion is excellent. Perhaps this is something that Louis should address, after all he and others are writing a book about K&C.

However, being the pesimest about the human condition that I am, I don't think that even the facts will make some personalities from the "I know it all" crowd change their attitude or their postings.

If I had my choice (that is if anyone referred to me as either one) I would prefer to be called a Praetorian Guard. They were the real power behind the throne of Rome.

Centurions only controlled a hundred or so men in the Legions. The Guard lived a life of luxury and wealth, decided the fate of emperors and generally had it made. A Centurion had to march all over the bloody place, risk life and limb for god and country, and generally had the life of a "roadie."

The choice for me is obvious. I guard Caesar every time.
