I arrived a little late to K&C and have missed out on some amazing pieces. I'm trying to catch on some past pieces I missed out on and had a couple of question regarding the first Winter Tiger WS070(SL).

How limited is this piece? How hard is it to come by and what the going price for this piece?

Ever since I saw it I just have to add it to my collection!

Only made 999 I think and you can find them on ebay and they go for about $1000. You might find one cheaper. I'm in the same boat as you and have been trying to find one that is affordable.

prices can vary greatly with these tigers- I have seen them sit on the tables of dealers at shows for $200 (slightly damaged mind you);)

ebay is a decent resource. It seems that older "rare" pieces tend to deflate a bit and adjust when newer models come out- that may happen here- not sure, this is a pretty iconic set for KC.

Now is a good time to pick up some classic retired K&C sets... it's a buyer's market now but that can change quickly on certain sets. The first snow tiger runs between $500-800 but can go higher.

Im just waiting for the first opportunity I see one and if the price is right I have to get it! Thanks for the information guys.

I have this set and it is indeed a classic, very nice Tank with great crew. I know its smaller than the recent versions but its still a class release, I was glad when the Snow Tiger was issued with different camo scheme, the Winter Tiger retains its special place in my collection.

A great set one of my favorites as well....I payed $500.00 for mine mib never displayed and was well worth it.. if you are a avid K&C collector you must get this one someday...:D

This is a classic winter tiger:)....The tank itself is "only ok" in my opinion and it is a bit small (not 1:30th)...It's the figures that came with it that make it come alive:)...for me that was the key for this K/C Tiger....In those days you got a tank crew included; not so anymore...lucky now to get two half body tank figures.....$450 should be the maximum; I personnaly would not pay more than that.....The Tunsian Tiger was K/C's best effort IMO and also came with a desert tank crew

Vezzolf...

I kinda agree about the Tunisian tiger tank for tank its the best version made to date by K&C. I think its good for the collector to have the larger amount of crew but, like with the general inspection and the tunisian tiger I find the extra figures sometimes spoil the tank for me. I like the crew to be in the tank keeps it all compact like the FOB Panzer IV

Mitch , As long as the crew figures are not attached to the tank itself the customer can add them or remove as they see fit....It was a good deal to get the crew included...now everthing is becomming an add on...Which really drives up the cost.....The figures really make the Inspection Sherman as well as the Winter SL070...IMO is a little bland without them...Best Frank

Absolutely agree, one of K&C's best and I've seen them go for more than that too:cool:

I have the Tunisian tank as well WitmanTiger....but I find the Winter Tiger still a classic!!!!:D

Scott is right. The first Winter Tiger was WS 15W. WS 70 should run about $400 (I would think) these days.

How rare is the Tunisian Tiger? How about the price on it? I saw this one too and want it also!

Tunisian Tiger AK039 SL sold for 199.99 and only 1250 were made ......you still might find one out there for a good price.....:D

WS15W was the first "Winter Tiger" with the exception of the early wooden pieces. Production was 100 pieces and value has varied between $500-$1000 when it becomes available.

WS70SL is a very nice tank with production as stated of 999. When first produced it took quite awhile to sell out, now however it is popular with collectors and has sold in the $250-$750 range over the years. In the current market place I would expect one could be had for $400-$500.
