I agree Michael, to some extent. When it comes to analysing human behaviour and personalities there is no doubt that there are far more "types" than the experts have "identified". And people classified as one type can sometimes exhibit behaviour more applicable to another type. Which is why there is usually a linking of two or more types to classify the behaviour of individuals, such as the classic "passive-aggressive" person.
Although individuals do vary widely in their behaviour, depending upon what situation or mood they are in. There are always some consistent aspects of their personality, and it is these that are used to place them into a slot. That said, it's far from a perfect system, and it's still being developed.
Personally I don't place to much emphasis on labels myself. I just like to throw them around in arguements or when I am kidding with people, as with Pat, as indicated by my "wink" at the end of my original "accumulator" post
