I have one of the black and white V-2 rockets. As soon as I bought it (from Troops of Time, last year), I put it on a high shelf. I have high ceilings and that's the only way it would fit.

I never took it down until recently, when I realize - well - the nose isn't pointy. Or rather, the nose seems to end with a flat tip about a centimeter from where you'd think it would end in a point.

It's hard to tell from photos if that's how the rocket is supposed to look, especially since it's an item that's no longer available.

My hunch is that it's not.

If it's damaged, I'm not sure how it got that way. I think I would have noticed it if it arrived that way, but it's such a big piece (and a small flaw) it may have been damaged from the get go. I've checked the box for the missing tip and haven't found it.

As I haven't moved it around, the only other explanation I can think of is that the woman who cleans my apartment may have knocked it down by accident. I don't think she's tall enough to get it back on the shelf, and I believe she's honest enough to have told me.

If I'd broken it, I'd certainly admit it (I did so with an expensive WB item that they were nice enough to replace anyway).

That's neither here nor there. I was wondering whether anyone else has had this issue, and more importantly, whether Figarti could repair the rocket if I sent it back. I'm not looking for a free rocket, just a fix so that it doesn't look snub nosed.

If anyone from Figarti would like to contact me, please feel free to e-mail me at marksable@aol.com

Thanks so much,

Mark

I will email you on the V2, we'll fix it for you, no worries.

I agree cannot see many other manufacturers doing this after all of that time. Brownioe points all go to Figarti for that.

From my experience saying it will be repaired and actually getting it repaired are two completely different things. I wish you luck. Please keep us posted.

I fortunately haven't had the problem but a few members here have and I know that they were repaired.

I had one of the first tanks Figarti produced - a Chi-Ha tank with an extremely detailed suspension and tracks that had some movement to them. Over the years, these got very fragile. I shipped the tank to Shanghai and It came back better than new.
