Hello all
No this is Not Andy C. but Andrew giving you the latest news from the K&C event in Los Gatos, I was able to ask him the questions you posted and got him to answer some of them. I will try and answer them in a way that does it justice to the way he does.

1. First question asked will there be a fire engine made: Keep your eyes open there may be something down the line.

2. What has he regretted retiring: the Napoleonic Black watch and the AE Chariot.

3. Will there be an Allied Half track coming our way: Look in November for the Battle of the Bulge and you will be impressed.

4. English Civil War: Andy likes the idea of that range but doesn't see it happening due to issues of low demand for it

5. For Rob any new Brits and Cannadians for DDAY: Yes in 2010 including a new british tank. But he wouldn't tell me which one

6. For Ron I had to ask to see the look on his face about Seminole Indians and I quote Andy's reply "HELL NO" Sorry Ron

Thank you Andrew thats very kind of you and much appreciated:)

More D Day stuff in 2010,bring it on!

Thanks for taking the time to gather the questions, ask 'em and post replies, It's much appreciated.
Like the sound of the halftrack, ME262 and DDay stuff.

Distinct lack of detail in his response to the Commando question. Hmmmm.....wonder if they are about to be released for a surprise attack.

Like the way you think mate, how cool would it be if Andy had a surprise in store for us?.

And next year looks like it will be one of the best yet, more D Day and Arnhem releases,i'll have to go back on the streets to raise money;)

Just to clarify, when you say 'back on the streets' I have no doubt that you mean as a postie, and not one of the more respected professions. :D

K&C has already done a mortar halftrack and a quad .50 cal. halftrack. Wonder what will be different about the new one. Guess we''ll know Friday night.

Maybe you can lobby Andy to do like the M24 and paint it either way. There's very little that would mark a halftrack APC, mortar carrier or gun carrier as "winter" unless Andy molded ice chains on the front tires or the tracks. Otherwise it's the paint job and how the figures are dressed. The GIs wore their field jackets up to the end of the war, and since the war ended in the spring, a few bundled up figures aren't bad. For the French campaign you might need different figures.

Gary, wasn't there an M3 Halftrack with Pak Howitzer, and was this only used by the Marine Corp do you know?.

Rob, yes the T30 howitzer motor carriage mounted the 75mm pack howitzer on the M3 halftrack. They were used in North Africa and Sicily but were replaced by the M8 75mm Howitzer Motor Carriage based on the M5 "Stuart" tank chassis.

I don't know if the Marines used the T30 but they sure liked the M3 75mm Gun Motor Carriage that put the M1897A4 75mm gun on the M3 halftrack. They were used as interim tank destroyers until the M10s became available, then were used by the British and the Marines. The USMC referred to as an "SPM" (self propelled mount) and used them through Iwo Jima. For Okinawa most (all?) of the SPMs were replaced by M7 105mm Howitzer Motor Carriages.

Rob

No there was, but (and I'm probably mistaken!)I think it had a 75mm howtizer?:)

And I think it only served in the Marine Corps and in Afrika, then again I'm probably wrong!:D

Thank you Gary, thats very interesting.I was trying to think of a halftrack that Andy may have up his sleeve thats a little unusual. Thanks for taking the time to explain that to me.

I'd be excited about a "plain" M3A1 APC. Each armored division had three battalions of armored infantry, plus there were several independent armored infantry battalions and the primary vehicle for them was the "plain jane" M3A1 personnel carrier. With fifteen armored divisions in action in the ETO by the spring of 1945 that means there were 2500-3000-ish APCs just moving infantry, plus the others assigned to engineer, armored artillery and tank units. A common vehicle that hasn't been available for quite a while.
