I was thinking of a scene I could do with the RAF 009 piece and I thought about John "Cat's Eyes" Cunningham and the Bristol Beaufighter Mk1F he made famous. In the background is the Revell 1/32 model of Cunningham's night fighter from 1940 when he was credited with the first radar kill made in a Beaufighter on November 19, 1940 downing a JU88. Cunningham would end up with 20 kills, 19 of them at night. The Beaufigher was heavily armed with 6 .030 Browning machine guns in the wings and 4 20mm Hispano cannons under the nose. (source: Revell instructions) My "good" camera is not working so I'm using my old one and the photos are not the best:(

Thanks for that mate.
I see you like your Beaufighters, you may like this print of R.A.A.F piloted beaufighters doing the business in the channel prior to D-Day.
Wayne.

Mitch

Very nice pics Duke and a cool looking aircraft^&cool

Rob

Great looking plane, firsat time I see an assembled 1/32 Beaufighter! The pictures are nice and looks very good with K&C!

WOW!!...Terrific idea for a Dio. nice and simple-not too cluttered..Love it!!. And using an aircraft that never seems to get the attention that it deserves. The Bristol Beaufighter..(later to be nicknamed The Whispering Death) was the mainstay of nightfighter ops until the entrance of the Mosquito and was responsible for downing many hundreds of German Bombers hell bent on bringing Britain to its knees.

Steve

Thanks Steve, Sentaapua, Rob, Mitch, Guy, Craig, Wayne for the kind comments. The Beaufighter is an under appreciated warbird of WWII in my opinion. I just finished building this model and may plan and do another model of the Beaufighter soon. I'm not sure if I'll try another 1/32 or maybe a smaller 1/48 this time. Better yet, how about K&C making a 1/30 one!{sm3}

You are welcome Duke!!. Did"nt realise you built the plane youself..Even better!!. I think the scale (1/32nd) works very well with KC, especially
with the larger aircraft, Like to have a go one day myself, a US. Army spotter plane in a Battle of the Bulge setting would be really Cool!!!.

Duke...

Apologies I just read it properly (too busy looking at your pics) and saw that you made the aircraft. very nice build indeed

Thanks Steve. Yes, the Beaufighter in 1/32 scale is quite large and does work ok with K&C I think. You should "have a go" yourself and your idea of the spotter plane sounds good.

Thanks Mitch, and certainly no apology needed my friend. You are too kind.
