I decided we should have a "discussion" thread. We can use this thread to post pictures of cool things we find and general discussions rather than "hijacking" other threads (guilty as charged, myself!). Just don't post pictures of things that I will be forced to buy! {sm3}

Great idea as you and Joe are founts of knowledge. I told my friend Harvey (who had the Kolobob question) that you're the Man when it comes to Russian figures.

I am a mere pupil of the Great and Knowledgeable Joe! he truly is the glorious font of knowledge {sm4}
(and has been making some amazing dioramas recently!)

She is a wonderful artist. I have a few pieces, but am always looking to add more

Here are two of mine: (note, the coloring of the mountain man is my crappy photography. I was trying something different. The real bust is much nicer than the photo reveals)

Zach,
Thank you for authoring this cool thread and for the invite. It's a great idea for all things Russian that don't otherwise have a home. Being that Russian work is my true passion in miniatures, I'll be sure to contribute my 2 cents even if it can be difficult to gather 2 cents when collecting such fine pieces! LOL

Olga Zernina is a true master of the highest regard. I wish to some day own some of her exquisite work. Congratulations to all here who have acquired some of her masterpieces. Of note before she even paints a bust she studies it for possible modifications she can make to facial features that her brushes can embellish to further accentuate her ability to bring a piece to life. She see things and creates at another level entirely as these fine examples of her work attest to. Great photos! Thanks for sharing them.

Joe
