Going to be a must have set.

What do you reckon limited edition 250 sets.

Let the feeding frenzy begin.

Oh man, I can't wait to have this one. Start saving your $$$ because I have a feeling its going to take several clams to purchase this one.

Here is another illustration by Gary Zaboly showing the boats being brought ashore at Missisiquoi Bay for the Raid on St. Francis. There were 17 of these whaleboats used in the raid. Anyone planning on buying 17 of these beauties to reconstuct the attack? I wonder if John would make some empty ones available separately as he did with the cannon for the artillery set? I would also like to see an optional sail as in the watercolor.

Mike,

By the look of it 6 figures, 2 cannon and boat / oars / equipment.

Going to to go $300+

I normally don't collect this time period, but that whale boat is too nice to pass up.

I see LE of 500.A lot of work in this one.He has to make enough to cover the costs. It probably will be the top Jenkins item up to this point.

I'm guessing it will be limited along the lines of the blockhouse. No more than 350 and cost about $250.

With all the interest this has generated it is very likely a small edition will sell out pre-orders on the 1st day it is announced. With that possibility, I hope John goes for 500 on this one, especially since some folks may want to order more than one as they did with the blockhouse. I believe this has the potential to be his most popular release ever.

I agree totally.

I was wondering about what everybody thinks of the canoe sets he made earlier.I have both and think they are very nice but haven't heard anyone's opinion about them.

I think they are nice, but difficult to work into any diorama type display with the other JJ sets.

That may all change with the Woodland Indian village that John will be issuing to go with the St. Francis series. A good place to add some canoes.

I do hope he stays with a small number no more than 300 its fun to have something no one else has. Also clears the shelves for more newer items. Is newer a word?

I have both canoe sets and think they are great. The figures are so animated. They tell a real story. The whale boat even as an unpainted master looks even better. The only fault if it is one with the canoe sets is that on both of mine the paint had chipped below the hands on the paddles before I'd even opened the boxes.
To this day I can't understand why these were not sold out in the first weeks, I know they are not directly combat orientated but come on guys these are class!

If John makes figures showing the domestic life on the frontier I for one would be interested.

I'll second the life on frontier idea.

especially if there's Indian huts involved :D
