Ciao Max:
I look forward to the day my friend when we can meet and share a meal!

For what it is worth, John's initial post had nothing to do with good or bad dealers. What was lost in the avalanche of posts thereafter, was the rhetorical question being asked about the sudden influx of rare pieces. Was it being implied that these items were being held in a backroom all these years by dealers, who never put them out? Or are these items fictitious and the auctions fake? Call me dense, but the original post had some original meaning and I don't get it.........Michael
John,
Within your post you said that three years ago a search would reveal nothing for King and Country. I've only been doing this (ebay searches that is) since probably December 2004.
During that time you must have picked up some good deals when there was very little K & C on ebay.
...There was a Hugh Walled Fortress with just a ton of soldiers and a couple of Elephants, Cannon and a large number of mixed figures. It was the Walled Display from Silk Road and a load of the glossy figures. I looked at it for a couple of days and passed and I think it went for a little over a thousand...

That is why Hans, Larry and I decided to write the book. It covers everything K&C from 1984 to the present, with photos of all but maybe 5-6 figures Andy ever produced (and descriptions of those missing 5-6 figures) as well as photos of every single vehicle in every paint scheme except two (the missing paint schemes being the RAF ambulance in desert markings and the wood Sherman with opening hatches in U.S. Army markings). The only area where the book can't be truly comprehensive is with the aircraft - we can provide photos of maybe 60-70 out of more than 117 we have counted to date. It should, hopefully, permit newer K&C collectors to have a comprehensive knowledge of the products K&C has developed and produced over the years. Now if Hans and Larry would start doing the photography and formatting, we might get it published before Alex starts high school.
Wow! I understand why it is one of the two items that you remind. That display is simply incredible.
Pierre.
...I learned a long time ago the discovery of a new treasure usually brings me more pleasure then the possession of it.

That is true.
I was very excited when I finally won a WS41 on eBay. I displayed it on the pontoon with a Krupp truck and the German cavalry (and other figures from the Wehrmatch). A nice set up. And one day I putted everything back in their boxes and on another day, I sold the tank and the truck.
But I don't think that I'd do that with that display
Pierre.
