Rare K&C on eBay! (1 Viewer)

Not this expensive but to each his own. I have a couple and paid what I consider reasonable prices.

The Jockeys are rare so I can't blame Nicholas for trying to get a good return. The others are not as rare as the Jockeys. The Palios are nice figures; I like mine quite a bit ^&cool

They are worth every cent to someone who wants them but I try to look at things using 'Jack's mathematics' - would they give me three times the enjoyment of a recent mounted figure and the answer is no. I did not look at the seller so it was not a personal thing. I do not know him. If he owns it, good luck to him.

That said, if price was not a consideration, some Hong Kong horses would look very nice on my shelf just to the left of every Durbar piece ever made and just below every Jenkins aircraft and just above my complete collection of every piece Trophy ever made or thought about making. But alas ... price is very much a consideration.

I, on the other hand, feel completely the reverse. I much more enjoy the figures from K & C's early period than the present offerings. They have a certain quality and magic that today's offerings don't. In the end it is a personal choice but the price of these figures helps to partially explain the attraction they have for collectors. I would sooner buy one of these rare items than another tank, WW II soldier, etc.

Brad,
agree, I love the glossy! I don't own any of the horses but with my recent other acquisitions, I need to pass. I also have a Trophy Boat landing in the near future, so have to save my duckets so to speak!!

The Rebs are a comin................

I like the figures but I think it reflects our backgrounds - when you filled out your university application you had the sense to write 'law'. In contrast, I wrote 'education'.

I very much relate to this. That's the way I feel about the fabulous glossy Imperial figures, only FL (non WWII) manages to interest me as much.

It arrives to Maryland Harbor in September (before Chitown!). Way exciting, Civil War Reb!
