But that wouldn't be accurate Terry,in the more than one hundred years of the Royal Mail not one letter has ever been late or lost....at least thats what they used to yell at me in the post office every morning as they beat me with rubber truncheons and made me take the drugs,oh the drugs!

Rommel and Monty did meet in the desert once, but it was not documented for obvious reasons. All they did was complain to each other about their leaders. Rommel about Hitler's no retreat policy and the shortage of equipment and supplies in North Afrika because of that stupid attack on Russia. And Monty about Churchill constantly whining about needing a victory and why doesn't Monty attack - what's he waiting for. Rommel retorted - well at least you get armour replacements and supplies - i'm down to using captured Crusader tanks and eating British cooked rations. Monty retorted that at least Rommel did't have Hitler show up one day and look over his shoulder while telling him how he would fight the war. (Not that Churchill could actually see over Monty's shoulder ) It went downhill from there.

Have decided to recommend you for a stint on this year's Comic Relief dressed up in your old Penny Black Postie's uniform and wearing the ubiquitous Red Nose to represent the bitterly cold 3" of snow spouting out stories of the day Patton met a PC whilst Erwin complained to Monty (preferably the other way round on reflection).

You will no doubt go down a storm whilst raising cash for a worthwhile charity.

I have spent most of the day clearing my drive of 2inchesof ice and a foot of snow and now i have a bank either side 3ft high so hope it does not melt in one go
