Rats on the Move - 1942 (2 Viewers)

Ray,
One of the gang, Fitzgibbon, does come from a war gaming background and whilst not 100% I think he might have done the burnt effect on the German tank.

Jack...

this is incredible...

museum quality...

every figure placement seems to have a purpose...

and every picture is better than the last...

I think I am collecting the wrong series, these are great. Like the layouts. Good photos too.:salute::, Robin.

Thank you very much for your kind words. The guys are very proud of their work and although they pretend they don't, they always get a kick out of reading the feedback.

Dear Mike

Thanks very much although I am only the ringmaster. The guys are the clowns who have the talent!

Great display Jack! you Aussies spare none for your fun. One thing I saw the knocked out Panzer, from my wargamer days, a charcol broquet and sandpaper, works unimaginably well to put a fine inpenetrable looking burned out look when sanded over the top of a vehicle and quite nicely blows right off. Have a great time at your get together.

Many thanks. Its always a good night ... even when someone asks, as they always do, are we likely to see a desert 88 this year'? I blame Andy, because very year he pretty much says no, and then adds, 'but never say never'.

Hi Guys,
Bloody good setup and dio ... Will this be on show in Brisbane at Nudgee College when I get there ... ? I sure hope so!
This is a lot of what this great hobby is all about ... Telling a story and having tons of fun and enjoyment sharing it with others.
Terrific stuff and very well done!
Andy

Dear Andy

Yes ... it will be still up for the dinner. You don't take the tree down on 24 December!

Jack

This is what TS is all about, oceans of sand, mixed up with lots of great figures and vehicles in a big display.......simply superb fella's.:salute::

Please post some more snaps when you can.{sm3}

Dear Toddy

Hope all is well in the land of the long white cloud!

Jack

Looks like some more reinforcements have appeared on the North African desert since I was there!

Well done Marc for the pic's, the lads for setting it up and of course Jack for posting.

Tom

Dear Tom

Coming from NT, you just get sick of desert scenes! Thanks for the compliments! I will pass on your kind words to Marc who may make it to his first dinner this year.

Regards

Jack

Thanks but I am just the organiser. There is a group of very talented guys here in Brisbane. I just herd the cats!

Very nice setup and pictures. Thanks for sharing!

Brilliant display ! :salute::
Steve

Great dio. I wish I bought the Crusader tank when I had the chance. Nice touch on the knocked out Panzer III.

Splendid images Jack - thanks for sharing! As a HUGE fan of the desert themes, I notice many of the pieces that I own and must say they look a lot better in this diorama. Great stuff here.

Great stuff Jack, thanks for posting. Many great sets on display and the pictures look fantastic.

Reminds me of the 8th Army displays (in 1/32) by BMSS member John Sandars back in the 1970s.

Well done Fellas another classic and Marc your pics are getting better.

Martin, that's a terrific array of sets that you gentlemen have put together. The display does an excellent job of highlighting the diversity of the EA collection and it's Australian contingent. Y'all always do such marvelous work with these desert-scapes. It could, however, use some more AK casualties.:wink2:
