Al...

that's funny...

she reminded me of Carmella also...
whiney...but strong...not too soft to look at...wiry and unpolished...not attractive to me...

until I finally figured out where I had seen her before...

she played the prostitute for Al Swerengen in Deadwood...
and she was one tough cookie in that show...

and like you...

I agree...
Jon Voight was the perfect cast for Mickey...
Voight does him very well...
I never cared much for him...
maybe Midnight Cowboy...
but never a favorite of mine...
I really like him as this character...
Doh! Never made the connection to Deadwood.:redface2: I have seen several things that I thought Voight did a good job in, mainly as supporting character types. I like Deliverance, Runaway Train, The Odessa File, and Conrack, in which he starred and liked him as support in Heat, Catch-22, Mission: Impossible, and National Treasure. He has been around a while and been in a lot of movies that I haven't seen. -- Al

Al...you're right...I don't know why I'm negative on him...he was good in Deliverance and National Treasures...he was great in the Rainmaker and Coming Home (Academy Award Best Actor)...I just never felt his career ever blossomed into what I thought it could be after Midnight Cowboy...with all the hits he was in...it still seems like he was a B list actor in so many movies...

I think Rainmaker was one of the best court room dramas ever made...written by Grisham...directed by Coppola...a crazy good cast...Voight...Damon...DeVito...Rorke...Glover...Schieder...to me it ranks up there with A Few Good Men...To Kill a Mockingbird...12 Angry Men...but it never seemed to get the attention I thought it deserved...

Almost done with season 2. Couple of thoughts; this show would collapse without cellphones and there is an awful lot of 'Tony Soprano goes west' in this show. Quite a few parallels but I think I like this show better. Mickey continues to amaze. -- Al

That was quick! A binge watcher ^&grin

More like a bug-eyed binge watcher at this point. Trying to beat the season 3 premier, if I don't go blind in the process. :rolleyes2: -- Al

Does watching a ton of baseball fall under the watch TV category or does it warrant its own classification?
Jason, normally I believe it is just classified under the 'Sportswatching TV Nutball' catagory but it can also fall under 'Cruel and unusual punishment' category if the team(s) are having a bad year. It can also fall under this category when the watcher follows multiple teams and multiple double headers on any given day are played (as just happened with the O's and Nats this past Sunday) resulting in more than 2 games to be watched on said day. {sm3} -- Al

Well, Ray had a Cookie for lunch and Mickey talked to the right horse. Bring on season 3! ^&grin -- Al

Season 3 is pretty good so far but has a much different feel to it as things have just gotten out of Ray's control. Mickey continues to amaze me with his constant ability to gravitate towards the worst possible ideas and then trying to carry them through. Bunchy is getting on my nerves but Terry continues to be interesting. Ray has signed a deal with the devil that should make for some nice twists. -- Al

Al...
this show continues to surprise me...
I don't remember who got me started on it...
but I want to thank them...

on a personal note...

Mickey...
is a total screw up...
even though he seems to try hard...
still...he is a scene stealer...
Voight handles his character with ease...

Ray...
his character seems to be getting darker and darker...
I'm not excited that he now works exclusively for Finney...
that might limit his exploits...
unless Finney has a lot of issues that need "fixing"...

Bunchy...
he has more flaws than anyone in the show...
still...
I enjoy his dialog and watching Ray take care of him...

Terry...
he is interesting...
all his flaws and problems...
and he asks for nothing...
the poor shaky guy...
I enjoyed the scene with the Aryan when he kept saying...

"Who's the ding now"...

great show...

also still enjoying Ballers...The Brink...and Humans...

I just can't get into True Detective...I struggled through 3 episodes and threw in the towel...

Good episode last night. Mickey is unbelievable. They will come after him. The story line with the undercover priest is getting good. -- Al

Is the undercover priest the same actor who played the glider pilot in Saving Private Ryan?
