Ray Donovan (1 Viewer)

Getting close to the new season. Starts June 26 (Sunday). It's about time.:wink2: -- Al

Watched E1 and thought it ok. Takes me a while to remember where they left off and such. Mickey is in the poop again. I did think the sequence with the cop and the alcohol was a bit telegraphed, saw where it was going right away. -- Al

watched it last night...started pretty slow...but a good episode...expected a little more to start the season...

SPOILER ALERT for this post. The episodes are good but I somehow have gotten to the point where I able to know what is going to happen before it happens. Maybe the writing isn't what it used to be but the show has become predictable. Mickey's plan goes wrong...again...what a shock. Ray's wife shoots intruder, saving Ray. Again, predictable. Maybe I'm being too harsh, as I like the show, but it seems the previous snap is missing to a certain degree. -- Al

yea...maybe a little predictable on both those scenes Al...but I actually thought it was a good twist that Mickey got screwed...and Ab's coming to the rescue...well...that was kind of needed...and they did show her opening the gun safe when she heard gun fire...so...the alternative was Ray getting killed and changing the name of the show to Abbey Donovan...I thought it was a good episode...Bunchy and Terry still crack me up...

so I must have missed something...does Ray still own 2%...or some portion of the football franchise?

Michael, that's a good question. That had totally slipped my mind. I simply don't remember. I like Terry and Bunchy as well, but my favorite is still Mickey. Loved his casino heist, but you knew it was going to go wrong for him. Wish I had a pile of money like Ray had in that office safe. :rolleyes2: -- Al

Al...don't know if you watched next week's previews...but it showed Ray telling Abbey that he needed more money as he pulled up the carpet to show a floor safe too...aaaaaaaaaaaah...the lifestyles of the rich and famous...

you should check out HBO's new series that started last night...it looks good...

"The Night Of"...

Thanks for the suggestion. Actually meant to catch the re-run last night after Donovan but I'm afraid the Sandman hit me. :wink2: -- Al

I like the part when the family is hiding at the hotel in last night's episode where Avi tried to convince Conor that he should go into hedge funds if he really wants to make money. Conor replied with “I’m not gonna be a gardener, dude.”

yea...Conor has a big future ahead of him...:rolleyes2:...

maybe a gangster is his best shot...

It reminded me of the South Park Episode about Indian casinos. The kids try and get into the Casino and security stops Cartman and tells him he can't go in because he is a minor. He responded with:

"I'm not a minor, do you see a shovel in my hands?"

Cartman rules! -- Al

Last night's episode was decent. There are many plot lines developing and I guess you need an episode like that to line them all up.

Another interesting, but low key episode. Looks like things will pick up, action wise, when the Russian mafia connection gets ramped up. Mickey is priceless, everything he is involved in turns to shinola. Ray's son needs a good smacking before the inevitable happens. -- Al

Me thinks Ray has a big problem. He didn't play nice with the Russian. He just keeps stepping in it up to his eyeballs. -- Al

good episode...yea...the Russian Mafia is gonna come unglued when they get that parcel...

didn't quite grasp the scene with the art dealer...

am I ugly?
