good episode...yea...the Russian Mafia is gonna come unglued when they get that parcel...

didn't quite grasp the scene with the art dealer...

am I ugly?
There are some twists to this season that I don't grasp and that scene was one of them. Ugly? Maybe, maybe not, but out where the buses don't run, for sure.:wink2: -- Al

Good episode last night. Mickey is one slick con. Writers did well with the whole Mickey story line in prison, one near miss after another. Hank Azaria's character is a real scumbag, too. Anyone notice that 'the Texan' is Stacey Keach? -- Al

Al...the scene with him and the old man that ate his gruel...
then got sick in their cell was hilarious...

"It hurts...it hurts!"

hysterical...

Mickey is a quick thinker for sure...

I finally started this show and it is awesome. Well into season 3 and trucking. Very entertaining but brutal. Ray just doesn't give a hoot!
Tom

Mickey is BAD. Ray is in a real mess now, although Avi is a bit worse off at the moment. Want to see how this works out. -- Al

Al...yes...

everybody has a new set of problems...

Ray and family for sure...
we all knew that Dimitri and the Russian Mafia would retaliate after he mailed Belikov's body to them...

poor Avi...
he's in a pickle too...
next weeks preview shows that Ray is using all the art from the gallery as a bargaining chip in his release..
Avi...I liked him in Scarface...
he is pretty good with his accents...at least Cuban and Israeli...

Bunchy and Mickey's fingerprints have to be all over Primm's house and the murder scene...

Hector's crazy sister Marisol doesn't look like she is gonna disappear...
after burning the "get lost" check and all her brother's memorabilia...

the good news is...
Teresa might be out of her mental funk...
and...
Shaky Terry might have a new girlfriend...^&grin...

Mike, Avi is played by Steven Bauer, and as you point out, was in Scarface. He also played the part of a Mujahadeen fighter named Khan Taj in an excellent 1988 movie called 'The Beast'. Well worth checking out if you haven't seen it already. -- Al

Love the show from the beginning. But they got the wrong date on the "Custer" print. The camera moves in for a close up,t he brass plate on the print said June 26, 1876, should say June 25, 1876.....

So much for this season being slow! Everyone has something going except Bridgette, although their were some scenes where Terry's new boxing trainee was checking her out.

Another really good episode tonight. The junkie sister goes swimming, the Russian mobster continues to be extremely menacing, Ray remains in the middle with no real solution, and Avi still in deep poo-poo. I sure hate it when the 50 minutes are up and I have to wait a week to see what Ray does next. Currently my favorite show on TV. -- Al

Thought for sure Mickey would screw things up with the bet. Ray must have lost his mind trusting him with the 2 mil, but it turned out. Very clever the way Ray levered the boxer into the plot itself but a little disturbing. At any rate, Ray's life is so complicated at this point I'm a little surprised he hasn't gathered up his family and blown town for points south, or east, or west, or north.:rolleyes2: -- Al

Just realized that tonight's episode is the season 4 finale. Guess I'll be ticked off over the inevitable cliff-hanger ending that is SOP for these type shows but I will go along because I like the show so much. -- Al

Well, color me shocked. No cliff-hanger and an absolutely outstanding episode. I'm not going to say what happened. so as not to spoil it for anyone, but it is one of the best episodes I think they have done. -- Al

Al...while it was a feel good episode for the Donovan's...I thought the episode was bland and vague til the very end...

I was glad to see them remove Dimitri and his crew from the mix...

but this episode has so many gaps in it...

Abbey's cancer just disappeared?

what happened to the 3 million Mickey bet on Campos dropping in the 6th?

didn't Avi's horribly disfigured and mangled face heal really fast...from seeing him in the hospital?

why did Sonia give Bridget a painting filled with drugs to hang on her wall?

lots of unanswered gaps...

I doubt any of these questions will ever be answered...

still look forward to seeing Ray and his family gang's new problems next season...

Mike, you make some good points, ones that I missed or had forgotten about. The money Mickey bet on the fight was money that was due the Russian and was bet at the great odds for Ray to pay off the Russian, as per the agreement Ray had with Dimitri. When Ray decided to settle accounts, the money became a write-off as far as Ray was concerned, a sacrifice to the final solution. Money gone, Dimitri gone, problem solved.
Avi was still pretty disfigured and hobbled by his injuries, but he was still able to pull the trigger. It was justice of a sort.
I thought the cancer disappearing thing was lame and I thought, initially, it was just Abbie either being in denial or trying to ease Ray's burden at the time.
I have no idea why Sonia made a gift of a painting filled with drugs. Obviously, she knew the drugs were there, and must have known they would be missed. I must have missed the pertinent connection to the whole painting gift thing.
At any rate, everything was tied up neatly, so next season will be a whole new ballgame with new problems for Ray, who has become quite a killer. -- Al

New season alert! Just saw that the new season of Ray Donovan is set to premier on August 6 at 9pm EST. Thank goodness as it seems like forever since last season ended. -- Al

thanks for the update Al...

one of my favorite shows...
I fell in love with the script writing when in Episode 1...or maybe Episode 2...
when Ray offered the peeping tom...
as a penalty for his indiscretions...

"the bag or the bat"...

I would have taken the bag too as punishment...
but it was pretty ugly...
probably better than the bat though...

Thanks Al, looking forward to the new season when it reaches the UK :salute::

Cheers

Martyn:)
