Re: “Same old… Same old”

Hi Guys,

Re our old pal Vezzolf’s comments about K&C producing the “same old… same old”…

Yeah, I suppose he’s right! In the last six months, among other things, K&C has produced

1. The U.S. Navy Stream Launch with a whole bunch of “Shanghai” Marines.
2. French Foot Artillery in action.
3. An all-new 105 field gun and assorted GI’s manning it.
4. Chapter Two of “The Real West” with more U.S. Dragoons and Commanches fighting.
5. A P51B Mustang, Quonset Hut and nice little gathering of US Airmen and Pilots.
6. The Kriegsmarine “SEEHUND” and field tractor plus naval figures and even a BMW Sports car!
7. French First World War Poilus marching off to war plus those 3 little vignettes of soldiers, wives and girlfriends.
8. All-new airborne Paras… Brits and Americans.
9. An ME.108 “Rommel’s Desert Taxi”
10. A nice little bunch of Coassacks—mounted and dismounted.

Yes, I can definitely see lots of the “same old… same old”.

In a few days you guys are going to see a whole lot more… But, as I’ve said on another post that is neither “not good enough” for some people or as they prefer to say “the same old… same old”.

Best wishes and happy collecting from the same old…
Andy C.

Re: “Same old… Same old”

Andy,

like you, I don't know what he was on about...... you sure are doing lots of new stuff, as well as some very popular and wanted sets, so keep up the great work!

Sure looking forward to next week's unveiling,

John

Re: “Same old… Same old”

I am a bit taken back by that comment too. There is heaps of new stuff every month to choose from . Not all of it is my cup of tea but lots of new stuff month after month. Good to see you back on line Andy and already things have sparked up.Simmo.

Re: “Same old… Same old”

I always look forward to Dispatches(you may have noticed;))and its a monthly highlight in the collecting world.K&C continue to produce stuff that I really want year after year with great quality and depth, long may it continue.

I'd also like to thank Andy for the RAF range,as I said in another thread, this is a big year for WW2 Anniversaries and they don't come much bigger than the Battle of Britain and his range is a great toy soldier salute to the men of the RAF who defeated the Luftwaffe and kept Britain free.

Re: “Same old… Same old”

I suspect people who are bored aren't getting enough of the specific series they collect. With so many successful ranges, there is more waiting your turn for your range to be added to than there was 4 or 5 years ago. And some of the models are redos of older pieces which is great for the newer collectors who can't get the older expensive pieces which were done in smaller numbers.

But even so, there is still too much new for me. I have to carefully pick and choose and if there is nothing that truly suits my collecting plan in a particular month, not to buy something for the sake of buying something because one month there will be several things I want.

Re: “Same old… Same old”

More of the "same old...same old" is what we are expecting and appreciate.

Re: “Same old… Same old”

The newer releases may be "many", but to me they are becomming a bit stale in style....and a bit too obscure in subject matter for me.....There are definitely some K/C items I am interested in(eg. New Tiger Tank and Russian Cossacks) and I will likely purchase....... but the majority of my collecting is moving in a new direction....and seeking a different style with more realism....My opinion only of course;)

Re: “Same old… Same old”

Nice to see the "King" of King & Country online again. I always look forward to Andy's insights into the world of toy soldiers and whats going on at K&C. That's one of the special things about this forum that we have an ear to the manufacturers.
As soom have mentioned I also wholeheartedly disagree with "Same old...Same old". K&C has many diverse lines catering to a whole host of collectors. Every month the dispatches makes someone happy and someone not so much however if one is patient their interests are usually satisfied at some point during the year. My problem is I like them ALL! Drawing the line, using discretion, buying discipline and making hard choices is always my dilemma.

Re: “Same old… Same old”

Any word of the MkII FW Scheissen Schlepper mit Strudelhumpen ????

Re: “Same old… Same old”

Vezzolf, i must say that i can not believe you are not being drawn into some of these other great ranges andy and kc have come up with. It can't always be about ww2. My problem has been space. In the last few months i have not bought much kc because i have been rethinking my collecting strategy. I can't get it all any more so i am really thinking about bits and pieces from each range. The more i look at those hessians in the amer rev range they are darn nice. I have biught some trophy lateley but gone are the days of making new giant set ups do to the lack of space. Andy has offered alot of new opportunities by offering so many different ranges that little dios can be real interesting. I think i am back on the old track of buying what i like and not feeling like i have to have it all.

Re: “Same old… Same old”

Andy,

This is the golden age of the hobby, in large part due to your innovations. With K&C, and the companies it has inspired, there is an embarassment of riches for collectors to chose from.

Same old, indeed . . .
