Re-arranging the shleves (2 Viewers)

Like the way you have labelled your shelves Roy. The shelves look strong, which is just as well given your expanding WOR series. Those bottom shelves with WW1 might have to move out once the new artillery piece arrives. Your setup for this series does them proud. Robin.

Many thanks for your kind words Robin. I've been very happy with my shelf units and their rather unique size and strength..

I've just received the latest Grey Goose Collectables news letter - which has some smashing pictures of the resin masters of the WOR gun. (including the Ammo box you mentioned) :)

Just Magic!!

Cheers,

Roy

You have a very nice collection

Harrie

Thanks Normandy1944 - Very kind of you! :salute::

The WOR series has become one of my favorites and the preview of artillery, mounted knights and more infantry should excite collectors.
I believe there will be even more surprises for this great range in the near future, so make more space!

Oops.... try again...... My new (ish) Gaul shelf. I tried to be a little more ambitious than my usual shelf liner :)

Splendid work, it turns them into a small diorama. Good job matching the bases of the figures, they blend in well.

In my humble opinion, you were more than a "little" ambitious on your new shelf !

That ground-work looks great, the hill is a nice touch.

You have quite a collection of this series already...really like the Druid.

Thank you.

Bill...

you should arrange your shelves more often...
this thread slipped by me until now...
but have enjoyed viewing your collection and displays...

especially this particular pic...
I love the angle...
looks like one of those "interactive photos"

and your "shelf liner display" of your Gauls...

you should change your name to "Old JJD Bill"...^&grin

very nice collection and well displayed...

Many thanks Ivanhoe :salute:: I took a bit of a chance with the Druid (he's great isn't he) - but he looks fine alongside the JJD Gauls.

I have to re-arrange my shelves quite often to accommodate my WOR collection (up to six now, seven when the artillery hopefully make their appearance) :)

I said I wouldn't collect anything else - but - when I saw the Gauls close up I couldn't resist  I think they are John's best figures yet, so I tried to
give them a better setting.

Cheers,

Roy

Roy, If you think the Gauls are JJD's best figures yet, you've got to take a good look at the new Aztecs - They are Outstanding!
You'll be needing more shelves in no time. :wink2:

Hi Dragoon :salute::

Only so many shelves {eek3} so have to juggle about somewhat. Yes the Aztecs are magnificent - but the actual Spanish conquest holds no appeal for me.

I'm sure no-one will agree with me but from my simplistic point of view - A bunch of cutthroats/gold hunters annihilate a sophisticated civilisation (that just happens to thrive on blood sacrifices etc) There is no appeal to me for either side.

Ancient Britons though.............. now you're talking ^&grin I believe they will be Iceni? Boudicea/Boudicca figure to appear in the future? ^&cool

"Boudicea/Boudicca"...Now 'that' is an idea...Would have to have that one.

- For a moment there Roy, I thought you were describing the might of Rome against the Celtic peoples. Rome's insatiable appetite for land and wealth vs. those fun loving Celts with their alters made of severed heads. :wink2:

Really like both these new JJD series. Happy collecting - Ken

Ha Ha..........!! I'm surprised it took this long...............^&grin It's a fair cop! But I stand by my guns. It was blatant Gold /Money driven enterprise.

OK - When I collect, I have to feel some sort of attatchment to the subject - none whatesoever I'm afraid to the Spanish Conquest. Same for the for the Romans (I'm not much of a Corporate sort of bloke to say the least.) Now the Celts, severed head fetish or not - (and I believe most countries have gone in for that back in the day) they have "something" for me. Ancient Britons even more so.

My name is Roy and I am a "Little Englander" {eek3}

I think when most collectors look at a toy soldier it reminds them of something that interested them, like something in history, or a film or a book. They are able to escape reality and fantasise about what might have occurred or what would I have done in those times. Your right they were cutthroat gold hunters but were they any different from any era or any war. I don't think so. I know you are very interested in the War of Roses series but when you think about English killing English in a civil war so that somebody can gain power or whatever, pretty stupid. That is human nature and whether it was power, greed or religion there will always be conflict. You like what interests you and others might like something different. Keep enjoying the hobby. Regards Greg.
