While the wife is away, I decided to get out some of my 1/18 and 1/32 airplane collection and put them on the den floor to see how they look{eek3}:tongue:. They are all heading toward the front door, so maybe I'll just leave them there to give her a big surprise when she gets home{sm4}!

I know, I know it begs the question WHY?... but I ask myself Why Not?^&grin These are the ones that I have out of the boxes and I'm reorganizing my hobby room so I decided to group them together for a few photos (Had to move the furniture around a bit). I have the 1/18 planes out front with the 1/32 bringing up the rear. Most of the planes are 21st Century with a few BBI mixed in.

Gotta admit though, I didn't realize how well camouflage works until seeing (or not seeing) some of the 1/32 planes and how they blend into the rug.:)

Wow! thats quite a Fleet I'm impressed! {eek3}One question though, how do you keep from stepping on them?:p

Duke you read my mind i was gonna ask for a "Airfield" shot awesome mate well done cheers for the pic.

One of the best collections of warbirds I have seen. Excellent pics
Mitch

Good golly! That's a lot of big aircraft. The camo on some of the planes really does work incredibly well against a busy background. Love the USN fighters. -- Al

Nice assortment of warbirds wwiibuff! I strongly suggest that you fly them back to base before your spouse returns.............I'd hate to hear they received "battle" damage and were destroyed on the ground! ;) Thanks for sharing your pics.

Lately I've been revisiting Franklin Mint, Hobbymaster, Corgi and Forces of Valor to see their respective lineups for planes in 1:72nd, 1:48th and 1:32nd scale ranges and I must say many are very nicely painted and detailed. Best of all...most are generally south of $100USD. :cool:

Thanks Mitch. I actually have probably twice as many as pictured here. Lots are still boxed away. Don't really have an explanation as to why I've accumulated so many over the years and that doesn't help when trying to explain to the wife why I need to have so many.{eek3}

Thanks CFM. I have some FOV, Corgi and Franklin Mint as well. All have their own style, but like you say for less than $100 on most, makes them a good buy.

Holy cow.....impresive collection you have there....If you were to ebay them, you could afford a nice vacation you know ^&grin^&grin^&grin

Thanks, if I did ebay them, it would probably just help fund the next few months purchases of new items!{eek3}{sm4}

Do you like planes? I'm just wondering as I can't quite tell. :p

That is an impressive collection. Not sure about you Duke, but when I hauled all my Zulu collection out and set it up it was quite a shock at just how much stuff I had !!

Yes Scott it is quite shocking when you get a lot of your collection out at one time. The scary thing with my airplane collection is that this only about half of it.{eek3}{sm4}

No not really!:tongue::tongue:

It looks like O'Hare or some other big airport during the Christmas rush - except with more fire power. Great collection!!
