I didn't buy this as i went off TCS vehicles (Winter) because of the paint job,and IMO this didn't look much better in the stock pics.
Boy was i wrong this TANK is brilliant its,big i like the paint job and i was going to change the # but not know,ive never been a fan of the figures
but this commander is great.
For the price they are (I got this one dirt cheap on ebay couldn't resist) they are a steal so well done to TCS.

I got this tank right after they released it and it's one of my favorite armors from TCS.

Don't you dare touch the CS King Tiger and especially not the number. It is an historically accurate model. And it's not whitewashed - it's just frosted.

In Normandy, the s.Pz.Abt. 101 was famous in Tiger I. The battalion commander was SS-Obersturmbannführer Heinz von Westernhagen in HQ tank 007 - the famous tank Michael Wittmann was killed in. SS-Hauptsturmführer Michael Wittmann was the Company Commander of the 2nd Company in tank 205. SS-Unterscharführer Balthasar Woll (Bobby) - the long time gunner in Wittmann's crew now commanded his own Tiger 212 in the 1st Platoon of Wittmann's 2nd Company. And good old SS Unterscharfuhrer Otto Blase commanded Tiger 314 of the 3rd Company, 1st Platoon and went on to Tiger II 332 at the Bulge.

On September 9, 1944, all 3 Kompanies of were re-equipped with Henschel turret Tiger IIs with no zimmerit. Later that month, schwere SS-Pz.Abt. 101 was redesignated as schwere SS- Pz.Abt. 501. SS Unterscharfuhrer Otto Blase now commanded Tiger II 332. 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] Kompanie numbers were blue with a yellow outline, and had the crossed keys Korps symbol, no balkenkreuze, no tactical rhombus symbol. These Tiger II tanks were used at the Battle of the Bulge where most were lost. They were not whitewashed at the Bulge.

Obee - don't paint it grey for him. {eek3}

Even the figure looks like Otto.

Great pickup Wayne. I have this same model too and it's a great one.

I agree, very nice item, like all the CS armours....Weathering, details, commander,the quality price , everything...

Just one issue about the cannon, like the previous version too, the cannon shape is not well done as you can see below...

I think you mean CS used an early one piece monoblock version of the 8.8 cm KwK43 gun instead of the more commonly used 2 piece gun as is in the photo you posted. I agree with you.

I like these Konigstigers however, I preferred the style of the hull of K&C's over this and did not like the skirts on these versions. I was not happy with the over small muzzle on the K&C version which spoilt the whole model. I was not keen on the ''frosting'' affect it just looked to much like a cheap paint brush had been slapped all over the model. It was made to look IMO like white wash had ran on the skirts and hull so, can see why people would think it had been white washed. I do agree though that for the money the CS stuff was hard to beat. The non Zimm versions were for me the best they did

I Agree...The K/C hull was better IMO....The K/C skirts were also better... more realistic with some of them missing ....The muzzle (as you said) was way too small on the K/C version....The paint on both the K/C model and the CS model was not good IMO....I looked at the CS version and did not care for it.....Price was good on the CS version $189 and not terrible for the K/C version $225.....I was hoping that Figarti would do this tank and do it to the same level of detail/ weathering as their Desert Tiger or the Figarti Winter Tiger.....Still waiting on the Figarti Version...if it ever shows...:rolleyes2:
