Reb's version of the London Show (1 Viewer)

That Roman / Germanic scene is spectacular, I have seen it somewhere on the web I think but I can't place it. Can you give us the details mate?
It wouldn't be this one listed at Grenada would it?

Of course it also appears here as a Lucas custom,

On further review, it Well this would seem to be assembled from a Pegaso 54mm series sculpted by Victor Konnov

Not so bad if you assemble and paint it yourself. Now that is a project. Reb's photo is much better though.;)

Hey all:

Was great meeting UK Reb at the show and seeing a ton of sites in London and NE England. A full Toy Soldier Traveler report coming this weekend. Sorry for the delay, been buried at work and it took me 23.5 hours to get from the Royal National Hotel into my house in San Jose CA. I think my brain is still upside down. I'm going to flood this thread with pics from the show so I'll say sorry in advance.

Take Care

Some great shots there Mckenna

My favourite has to be the the guards display with the backdrop of Buckingham palace :eek::eek: Do you perchance remember who made that?

Thanks again for posting pics of your trip.

White Tower Miniatures- new to me.

London is the greatest city in the world to have a great time (with perhaps the exception of San Francisco) but it can be expensive for tourists, it sure helps to be a native and know where to stay, shop and eat..

Reb

Thanks for the SF compliment. I love the city but would not really want to live there. A great place to visit with many great hideaways. Then there is the Shop!

When I go to the UK hope to have you show us some of the sights. Excellent pictures. What did you think was the best of?

Vamp

Sure would look forward to showing you the sights as only a Londoner can show you the real London. Assume from your nom de plume we could only travel during the night and you would be more interested in the macabre rather than Buckingham Palace etc. No matter London can cater for that so let's see

I could book you into The Langholm Hotel -Oxford Circus- said to be the most haunted hotel in London and in particular room 333 (always available) where a Victorian doctor murdered his wife whilst on honeymoon then committed suicide, he regularly wanders the room calling her name. Even a BBC reporter fled that room in utter fear of his wellbeing.

We could then go for a drink in the Gun Inn where Horatio Nelson has been seen many times patiently waiting for Lady Hamilton who never arrives. They used to regularly meet there during their tryst.

On the way to the pub we pass Durward Street (Bucks Row) where Mary Ann Nichols (Jack the Rippers first victim) body has also been seen many times lying in the gutter oozing blood.

On the way back from Gun Inn a short diversion will get us to Execution Dock on the Thames where Captain Kidd was hanged shouting retribution to his executioners. Hopefully we may catch a glimpse of him.

London Underground stops running at midnight but outside the Bank station we just might if we're lucky run into The Black Nun still waiting for her brother who was executed nearby in 1811.

Not far from Covent Garden now and I'm sure we will spot the Victorian actor William Terriss who was fatally stabbed near the Adelphi Theatre, he is looking for the baker's shop that he always frequented and stood where the Tube station was built.

And as we pass by we must look at the shutters of the Royal London Hospital -tradition ensures that the shutters are always closed at night-if left open overnight someone famous unexpectedly dies. This goes back to the cholera outbreak in 1832.

I'll have to make sure I get you back to the Langholm before dawn :eek:

Vamp I am positive that you will be right at home in old London town as the above examples are just a flavour of the many many undead in our capital. I look forward to your midnight arrival whenever you decide to manifest yourself from across the pond

Pretty cool. You could do a great Ghost walk with all that. I'd sign up! Especially the pub parts after and during. :)

It's scary stuff on this thread. I'm glad it's mid afternoon here and not midnight.
