When I first started collecting K&C about ten years ago (is it that long already...am just getting started!:wink2:) the majority of my purchases were German or American Tanks and troops. We then had the second range of Arnhem figures which were very welcome indeed. After that we had a superb and comprehensive wave of British D Day figures, Landing Craft and Tanks . Not long after that K&C launched what for me is one of or even the top range the RAF series. This series is absolutely rammed with figures, vehicles, aircraft etc. We were then also treated to a sub range of British Home Front sets which once again are the mutts nuts. And NOW we have the marvellous Commando releases heading to a raid near you very soon.

I've always enjoyed collecting German and US releases, some of the Bulge US sets and German Waffen SS are among the best in my collection, however these days its also a very very good time to be collecting British Tommies from WW2. Judging from the emails and pm's I've been getting since Tuesday I'm not alone in this!:salute::

Thanks K&C, keep the Union Jack flying!:salute::

I do think the Commando series figures look awesome. Was hoping K&C would do some more American combat service support, like engineers. I think the line is pretty maxed out with all the "Commonwealth Clown" figures. We all know who really won the war. I probably shouldn't be posting after I've been pounding Tui's at the pub.

Keep it silly.

It is nice to see focus on the Brits it was six long years of total war and, the commando's were another innovative creation by us to take the fight to the enemy when most of the world had fallen and, were already used to Sauer Kraut and lager from musical steins!!!!

While I don't share the notion of collecting toy soldiers to pay gratitude to real troops from wars past or present or, share Rob's level of excitement at a K&C release (there are a number of things I am not personally keen on in these figures from the Commando releases) it does seem comments that ''brit'' stuff does not sell have really been put to bed!

Fair enough Mitch, it would be very boring if we all liked the same thing wouldn't it. Some like the new figs and some don't Same goes for people reasons for collecting, if some collect to remember, pay homage in their own mind or simply go into their room and make War noises whilst playing with them , its fine with me too.

Have to agree that have the deepest respect for the actions the Commandos carried out , very brave and very well trained men, as you say they took the War to the enemy tying up badly needed troops.

The American rangers who are considered to be of the highest prestige in military were formed on the model of the British commandos!^&grin
