Last night, while in the attic, I came upon an old family photo album of my great grandfather dated '1918'. I knew he did some type of weapons developement for the German Army during WWI. I was astonished by what I found, especially since the photos were in great condition - and in color.
On the back of the first three photos was written in German -
'Initial Inspection - Der Wienerschnitzel WarBlitzenWagen Sdkz. 1.
November 10, 1918'
The last two photos show the Kaiser and Hindenburg getting in the spirit of the moment and writing special messages to the enemy, since they are in English, I guess this beast was going to be used against the Doughboys or the Tommies.
After hours of intense study of the photos, I noted that the vehicle has some type of Infantry Perforation Device on the front, the WarBlitzenWagen appears to be steam powered, and is armed with a Proto '88' Blunderbuss cannon.
More fascinating historical photos to follow.

Good thing this weapon did not get into action, it might have turned the tide. The Allies would have been laughing to hard to resist, like I am now. Jolly good show. -- lancer

Starting from the bottom photo :

Photo #1 Appears to be an obviously set-up propaganda/promotional photo to show the might of the German Army and Air Force.

Photo # 2 This photo was identified on the back - "Final trials 10:00 am, November 11, 1918.

Photo # 3 This photo says 'Heading to the Front - 10:59 am 11/11/1918'.
Lucky for the Americans/British, the war ended 60 seconds later.
That was the last photo in the album. I figured the tank was lost in battle.

Photo # 4 Hours later, I found this last photo in an old box that was marked
'Poland - 1939" I thought this last photo would be of interest to the
WWII guys. I think this vehicle would make a great 1/30 scale model.
Come to think of it, some of those soldiers from 1918 look somewhat familar.

Love the IPD on the front! This is what it's all about, using your imagination andcoming up with some great stuff. Is chitty chitty bang-bang next? Love the "posh" Gramps. Mike

Footman,

That is funny! But I am wondering how the Germans got a Dwarven Steam Behemoth to create their WarBlitzenWagen. I always thought they only produced armoured vehicles for the British. Look at the Cromwell and Churchill tank, obviously Dwarven steam tank designs. Plus, their accents appear to be from somewhere in the nothern UK?

hearing of the new development of the Kaiser's 'special armoured vehicle', Field Marshall Haig ordered the brits to also produce a vehicle to prop up flagging Commonwealth and french morale.

under tight budget and against time, the brits produced a mighty propaganda vehicle, that virtually steadied them on, and won them the war -

:)

I am not sure what you mean by 'model'. All I have are the historical photos
that I made up, I mean that I found in the attic.
I did hear of a rumor of a middle aged man buying a tank-like model that may have looked something like 'Der WarBlitzenWagen' from a game store that was going out of business in a mall several years ago. But, no proof exists, so I am going to continue with my meetings with the guys at 'The History Channel' for a one hour special about my historical find to be broadcast in the Spring, 2009.

Hope the History channel picks your find up mate. It's got to be better than another LA Earthquake 14.0 disaster show or whatever clap-trap they are
showing lately:rolleyes:.

Hey Footman, funny stuff. Btw were you one of the historic advisers for the Battle of the Bulge movie ;)

I have done some Hollywood advising in the past. For the movie,
"The Big Red 1" I am the one that told them to get some US Army Patton Tanks and paint German Crosses on them, nobody will know the difference.
