Having been an avid concert goer in my teens, twentys, I was fortunate to see just about every major live rock act in their "hey day" at some point. That said over the last few years with my wife and son, I have been reliving my youth and have to say I am amazed if not impressed at how well the following have held up:

A. Ozzy - 2 summers ago, opening night of last tour - amazing, he was energetic for the 1hr 45 mins (albeit slightly shorter than the old days), but his vocal range is still there, my son, the musician could not believe it. We are seeing him again this summer upcoming in KC.

B. Billy Joel - 2 times in MSG last 4 years - timeless is the only word for him. Going back this Spring.

C. Kiss - same energy, etc as when I saw them in the 90s on reunion tour. Yes Peter was missing, not a huge loss, Eric Singer is a better drummer, did miss Ace Frehley though, but for the "end of the road", they gave it all.

D. Iron Maiden - words escape on how good and energetic they still are. Elaborate stage, costume changes, like seeing a mini opera all in one with heavy guitars, I can't say enough.

E. Fleetwood Mac - another time capsule and a great concert. Missed Lindsey, but Neil Finn and lead guitar from Tom Petty (Forget his name), did a great job filling in.

F. Elton John - my wife and I just saw him this weekend in Philly - WOW, almost 73 year old played for nearly 3hrs - 25 songs - all hits and never stopped. He is heavier in weight, but I honestly can't believe how good he still is.

Anyhow, I took a decade to 15 year break and sorry I did. The rock acts of the 60s, 70, 80s and some 90s are still better musicians than nearly all of the new stuff that is out there, just no comparison. I have a 15 year old who agrees, the new music is so computerized, taking no talent individuals and making them stars. It is beginning to become a lost art. What I find most amazing is that the so called "heavy metal" fad bands for the most part are still musically sound and have stood the test of time better than a lot of pop bands.

Saw the Moody Blues a couple of yrs ago, my favorite group of the 70's and never previously saw them in concert. Great time. Chris

I only go to concerts like that if I suffer from insomnia.

Just love the clubs with trance, rave, hip hop and electronic music. Cannot wait until 2am weekdays when the party starts. If I want to see zombies, I watch TWD or look in the mirror.

Deichkind forever!

Three weeks ago, I took my son along to see one of my favourite bands of all time, The Cult.....this got me right back to the 80's......great vocals from Ian, and Billy was excellent on the guitar.....all the classic poses....a sold-out concert....a fantastic night...my son fair enjoyed 'Dad's music' that night!

I believe they restart more US dates in early December....

I couldn't agree more- it's a great time to be into Metal!!! I'm glad it isn't as popular nowadays- means the ******* corporate raiders will leave it alone....Winger the first time around was bad enough, don't want to live through that again.

The last two years???

Iron Madien as well.

All three Black Sabbath end of Tour shows. One inside the United Center that may have been the heaviest show I have ever seen. It even beat a Pantera/Slayer show from the 90s

Jimmy Buffet for the 26th and 27th year in a row.

a 80s concert with the GO Go's, Bow wow wow, and The Motels.

Tom Petty in 2017 and man I am glad I went.

On another note, The Oz is on a roll - top 10 single with Post Malone, and now new album, dropping 2 songs in 2 weeks. My son already learned Under the Graveyard and has been singing it and playing in on electric. Said he can't believe Ozzy's voice, looks like the "ole Madman" is getting the last laugh on life at 71! I love it!

Ted Nugent. I've seen him every year since '75, give or take a few. This summer he toured with a smaller band, less "political" stuff, and I sat at the stage. Ted still recognizes me and always tips his hat to me. We're friends on Facebook as well.
He is still a monster on the guitar. He dropped "Hibernation" and a few others from his playlist, but replaced them with "Queen of the Forest" and "Death by Misadventure".
Great show and I really enjoyed the change in the playlist.
