I hope they do a Reissue of The General, I would Buy a second one(with out hesitation), Just because it is possibly The best/ greatest made piece by First legion. And if it will be a different pose. then All the better. First Legion totally rules!! In everything they make!!

I contacted Matt and unfortunately they don't have plans to reissue Colbert as a painted figure but possibly as a kit to be paintedSince I personally cannot reproduce the skillful paint job I will pass if that's the case...
My friend you should have picked it up when they were sitting on the shelves, it is one of the best figures they have done.. just what were you thinking ??^&confuse :wink2:. I do hear that First Legion have been getting more and more request from the Military Miniatures builders and painters segment of our hobby for kit versions of thier figures which goes to show just how good thier sculpts are. If you really want this figure at least there is now hope I'd say visit the Planetfigure site there are always quality painters who take commissions, just don't ask my friend Rod he is booked solid for the next 30 years :wink2: ^&grin.. I know, I missed the boat on this one. I have already 3 Colbert's (2 on foot and 1 mounted - not the FL) but this one I agree is the best! Hopefully if many of us lobby Matt maybe he will change his mind (after all what is one more figure to paint when they have already the production line set up to paint this new Red Lancer squadron! Hint, hint :wink2

I agree:salute::...a re-release of the Colbert figure would sell out in a flash..... especially now that the "red lancers" are arriving soon.

I am saddened that Matt, will not do a reissue of the Colbert Figure, I can honestly Say That with The Red Lancers RElease. It will be My most Favorite Figure. For there will be No more Wants, To complete The Red Lancers Set. I personally will be contented.

I think its fair enough they will not reproduce that exact figure as it was always stated on FL,s website that these mounted personalitys where ltd in quantity.

I was late to the game to grab mine and ended up sourcing mine from the UK which was a fair bit more expensive but such is life .

I got into The first legion Band wagon, At the right time. I was collecting the 1st Foot Guards, And just got my sixth or seventh one, When I saw The General Colbert Figure, And fell for it, And Got it. And I Can never part with it, even if offered X amount. Just because It is such a great looking figure. I tried to pair it with The KC Red Lancers, But it just did not look/ feel right. So been hoping for A First Legion release of the group. And finally its almost here. I am totally excited and can hardly wait.

You got it my friend that how it works . . If my memory is correct this was the first of the Mounted Personalities First Legion released and it was met with alot of mixed feeling from costing too much to not fitting in for a ton of reasons with what was in most collections. To be honest If I thought it did fit in with what was being sold elsewhere at the time I would not have bought it nor would I have become a First Legion collector. I remember being told by a supposed big Napoleonic collector at the time that First Legion were overprised fluff and stuff not sure what that means but I can tell you I would rather this one First Legion figure on my shelf then his whole collection and that's cool to each thier own. I'd probably feel much different about the limited addition releases if I was late to the party and trying to track this one down but that is a big part of being a real collector I also collect Militaria and the chase of finding apiece to finish off a collection is someting I have been dealing with all my life.
That has also always been a big fear of mine from the start that when First Legion become more collected they will sellout before I can get the ones I want, and I'd have to deal with the secondary market.
Congrats on getting one even if you had to pay a bit more at least you had the forsite to see just how good this figure was and is and that it will be worth a ton down the road. I feel for guys who want this piece but you can't go back , believe me I'd like to go back to 1946 when you could buy a german Para Helm for a pack of cigarettes. But that's not gonna happen just be sure to buy what you want now because they don't get cheaper.... regards Gebhard
I was able to get an FL " General Colbert" figure after they sold out from a friend who had 2...I got it at a fair reasonable price:smile2:....I don't know if it will be "worth a ton" in the future (that's not that important to me) but I'm fortunate to have gotten one. Now that the "Red Lancers" are being released I'm sure many guys will want a General Colbert figure to go with their purchase of the Red Lancers. Maybe FL will consider a 2nd run or another version. That would be fine by me because I would likely buy another.:smile2:
