I had the Kilted One repaint my CS Panther. I absolutely hate the Ambush Camo scheme and though I love the tank, could not live with the color. I had Vamp paint the tank in summer theme. Came out great, just what I wanted. On a side observation, I had a chance to see K/C 's Panther at a show. So totally not as detailed as the CS one. Whereas the CS model has open grill and vent work, K/C was just painted in. If you are in the market for a Panther, you could not do better than this one..Michael

Very nice repainted Panther.

I too find CS AFVs in general have more details than KC's and that's why I've been only spending money on them lately. I don't have the Panther yet. I have the King Tiger & Panzer IV and love the details on them.

Beautiful repaint. Like the dulled down base as opposed to the bright bases of "other" Panthers I have seen. Agree about CS armor. I have a KT and think it is great. -- Al

Very nice ,I'm getting Mitch to repaint one of my Cs Porsche king tiger when he get back from is Holiday

Looks like a fantastic job Michael. Congrats to both you and Kiltie :smile2:

I really wanted to go to town weathering this monster but Michael said he could do it. I have a Panther that looks like it needs a winter whitewash!{sm4}

Vampire, Nice re-paint.... but I agree...I would have gone for a Winter-White wash...Heavily weathered with mud on those wheels....Also a "bit" of artillery damage marks{sm4}...like this one in 1:35 scale...................

Kiltie Like! UH Huh!

Beautiful. I wish CS and K&C did white wash like this.

Send it to me. I really would like to do one like this. I may do it to mine anyway...

Uhhhhh I am going to do it{sm3}{sm3}{sm3}

PM me for info.

OK I started the process. I layed down a lightened coat of dunkelgelb in the areas that are going to show through the whitewash. The reason I lightened it is so that it might better go with the K&C tanks.{sm0}

First coat of whitewash down. Thinly ditributed around 90% of vehicle. Dried with hair dryer. Still setting. Will wait a little longer then go for a second coat. Still trying to upload iphone. Not working for some reason. Going to Kodak and see if it works that way.

So one of the things about doing stuff this way is I get to see how it will look before I am done. I can make corrections and check to see what I missed. As stated earlier this is the first coat. It is better to a series of light coats than one heavy one.Yeah, I know they say that all the time but really it is true!

Figured out how to load pictures from my camera to the laptop. They did make it harder. Ah well progress....

Coming along nicely. have you tried the hairspray method??
Mitch

Looking Good so far Vampire....Are you using a airbrush or applying with a fine brush by hand....Don't forget the dirt and mud{sm4}....Looking forward to the end result....Mitch what is the hairspray method??

Very nice job.

Could you list what equipment you use ( air brush, fine brush..etc..) and what paint you use, and also how many coatings you plan to apply...I intend to do some model painting in future but I have no clues where to start...:smile2:

thanks

No Mitch I do not use the hairspray method though I was just reading about it. From what I read it seems a bit tricky and inconsistant. Vezzolf I will not forget the mud or snow or rust at night.

cnq I use Vallejo acryllics for the most part. I use various brushes of moderate expense. ie I never buy the most expensive ones. I also use spray cans for doing the primer coats. I also use an air brush for base coats and weathering.. As far as the number of coats that will vary with the effect I amtrying to achieve. I did a 2nd whitewash coat and then I did a wash over the whitewash to make it dirty. At some point I will clear coat it to protect the finsih and weathering.
