I was approached by a local collector to see if I could bring K&C CF025 Lieutenant Colonel HAMISH "Mad Jock" MacTAVISH back to some sort of display finish after be bought the figure for next to nothing recently.

This is what I was given:

As you can see he looks like he's been 'through the wars' and much of the paintwork is chipped off, but I do like a challenge, so said I'd 'have a go'.

I have managed to fix the paint with mixing colours, repainting the coat and hat, and fine brushwork on the kilt and sox, as well as the face.

The collector is very pleased that he can now display this figure in his collection of Collector's Club figures, even though its a repair, but only close examination will see anything amiss.

Hope you like him,

John

John...

nice recovery...very nice...

you brought him back to life...

the original pics looked the the pooch chewed on him for a bit...

As good as new John, the local collector must be stoked with the repair job.

Hi John,

What type of exposure to the environment causes this type of flaking....? Is it something we need to be aware of as the years go by or is it due to some handling of the item that leads to this condition? My concern came up when I read these two threads and both had K&C sets...
Cheers

Luiz,

I don't know what the conditions were for this figure, but it was in the tropical regions of Australia. All I know is that the owner is very happy :)
