Just recently I moved my K&C WW2 "Afrika Korps" diorama to another location on top of a bookcase. I also just added K&C sets AK 049 (Tank riders), AK 061 (Drinking water from especially marked Jerry can) & AK 062 (soldier w/o shirt carrying a regular jerry can with gasoline for tanks, etc. The tanks are the Mark III & the Mark II. I am using a book on Rommel's Afrika Korps as part of the back drop, however I removed book for three of the four photos due to "flashing" problems with camera and the glossy book cover.

Hello Mitch:

Thanks for the first posting to my new "Thread". I sometimes use books that have appropriate book covers as part of the display or nearby the display.

Cheers!

Gary..

No problem. I once saw a display not soldiers but, sci fi stuff from a guy who used movie posters as his back drop when doing dio's and incorporated it into a 3d display. They were really effective and thats what yours reminded me of

Nice Dio, I have the same book

Hello "notascoldasbastogne":

Thanks for your nice comments. I got the "Rommel" book from a discount book seller (Edward R. Hamilton) in CT, USA. I got it just to be used as a partial backdrop item because of the large nice bookcover of Rommel and a MarkIII? tank. By chance I happened to see a K&C figure of a WW2 Italian Colonel standing with a map being sold by "Bsager" on eBay the last two days and I decided to use up my $4+ "eBay Bucks" rebate credit on buying it. I think this figure will look good standing with Rommel & the German officer with a map. This figure will also act as a representative of all the Italian Army troops that fought with Rommel in North Africa in WW2. Perhaps I'll post a photo or two once I get this item next week or so.

Hello:

Here are new photos showing the new single figure K&C set# IF008 of an "Italian Forces Officer w/Map" being added to my small diorama of Rommel's Afrika Korps in WW2. I believe I read somewhere in TS&MF magazine that set# IF008 represents an Italian Army Colonel and in any case this figure now represents the many Italian Army troops that fought with Rommel. I am also attaching closeup photos of the Mark II and Mark III German tanks. See new photos below.
