Hey Guys,

Hope everyone is doing well. Today I reconfigured my K&C Battle of the Bulge diorama incorporating a Last Post scenic mat. I like the finished product with the addition of the road. Slowly adding some new forces to the scene in anticipation of perhaps a visit from Patton himself. ;)

EDIT: Oh, and Paul, thanks for mentioning Bastogne in my previous rendition.

Another fantastic scene Rob 👏. I'm looking forward to seeing your new recruits turning up especially when Patton arrives 😀. Maybe you could go a bit nuts in Bastogne if you know what I mean 🤣🤣. All the best Paul 👍

You always do it well Rob. Robin.

Thanks fellas, always appreciate the kind remarks. Certain dios are a lot of fun. I've had most of these pieces for several years and never combined armies in this fashion.

Paul, with German intelligence re. a potential visit from the famouse General, others may be there to greet him. 😨

Let's hope so Rob 🙏. Paul

Coffee table battlefield?? What in heaven's name is that🤔 My wife doesn't allow such things! She has me and my hobby interests relegated to the basement (or as I call it, my sub terrarium hobby room). Nice to see you having lots of fun with your collection Rob.

Your post made me laugh, Mike. Coffee Table Battlefield = a little square table in our family room where I always set up a seasonal display in my efforts to "invade every room" as the Mrs. exclaims. Last month it was a Thomas Gunn Normandy Scene featuring their new howitzer.
As we watch all the crappy bad news television these days, I break out my toy soldiers and go to work (less all the shooting noises we made as kids).
The coffee table battlefield usually comes down at the end of the season (or) when a new release draws me to another theme.
Just have to keep reminding the Mrs. that those craters are not coasters. 🤣

Maybe I need to write a Coffee Table Battlefield Book to better explain (LOL!).

Great display Rob 👏. And I love that your wife is happy with coffee ☕️ table battlefield 😀. I set my displays up in the sitting room not sure the rest of the household approve but they don't complain luckily for me 🤣🤣. Keep them coming Rob, all the best Paul

The "seasonal" Coffee Table Battlefield is not a new concept but rather one that originated from incorporating Toy Soldiers into holiday decor. As an example; a few years back, I decided to add a Christmas Village to the fireplace decor hoping that the Mrs. would not get close enough to realize it was a WWII Streets of Normandy diorama.

You have to do it strategically "on the sly" until you can crawl out from the "sub terrarium hobby room" (as Mike refered to his mancave in the basement). ;)

A little slow at first with a few shots, then you can work up to the howitzers and big guns (LOL!). 🤣

Happy Holidays!

Mrs.: "Why are there soldiers in the Christmas Village, Honey?"
Me: "You have to have people in a village and there's only one Santa, silly!"

A very nice fireplace you have got there Rob 😀. I take it this year Santa 🎅 could be visiting Bastogne? Paul

Thanks, and you got it. ;)

But of course. Christmas wasn't postponed just because of the Bulge. It still happened and the troops celebrated it in spite of their circumstance.
Mike
I think that's pretty cool, Mike. The WWI story with Silent Night is pretty remarkable as well.
