Hi all,

just curious to see what members and dealers of our forum will be attending the WestCoaster in Febuary??

myself and a good friend will be there over the weekend 26-27-28?? don't exactly know what day yet, but I'll have my treefrog pin on...Sammy

I will be in the area during the show and will likely hit some room trading. Doubt I will be able to atend the actual show:(

Just reserved my room for Saturday night. Will browse that day and hope to attend the Figarti show if there is one. Will spend most of my time visiting with old-time buddies with few purchases.

Since it's only 10 miles from my house, I suppose I can make time to stop by for a few minutes. :)

Well I'm most likely the newest collector that will be attending...I have asked my wife if she would like to come...of course there was no definetive answer. So do you guys bring your wives or is this a man thing. I would look alot less gulible with her next to me:rolleyes:

My wife enjoys it, even we go separate ways. On the way we stop at the Irvine Museum (California plein aire paintings), then she heads off for one of the shopping centers. Sunday she swims and just kicks back ntil I'm done gawking at the toys. Then off for more touring.

The head honcho's of sierra will be there but unfortunatly your favorite firefighter may be exiled to the store that weekend. :(:(
Have fun all

Say it isn't so! Can't you give your sister a Starbuck's card and bribe her into covering Camp Sierra?

I will be there, and I can't wait! I will be there for some room trading, but not sure when dependent upon getting approval for requested days off from work. My better half and I will attend the actual show on Sunday. This is gonna be great as always:D!! I'm going to try and take lots of pics to share this go 'round too. The countdown has begun:)!

I will be there. Not staying over as I live in LA which isn't too bad a drive.

Definitely plan on showing up Saturday for the K&C event. Fri and/or Sun up in the air. The show is Sunday, technically...so will I miss the vendors by not attending that day? And what happens on Friday, exactly?

Friday and Saturday are room trading and the vendors will be there it is a nice relaxed environment to meet all the Manufactures and the dealers. Ask them questions and have a good time. Saturday also has some events like the K&C meeting the Build-a-rama event and the figarti event.

Sunday is the big show where everyone sets up there bases in the ballroom and people come in. It is a lot of fun but the room trading is better because people have more time to talk with you.

Have fun at the show all I wish I were down there this year but have to hold the fort. One thing about staying home I don't have to stay up late packing soldiers or fight my way downstairs in the elevators at 6:15 in the morning to set up for the show. :p:p:p:p

Forgive me for asking a question that probably has an obvious answer, but I only attended Sunday last year and saw the floor. What is "room trading", exactly? Can you buy items from the manufacturers/vendors in their individual rooms?

Yes you go round to the different rooms and buy stuff from the dealers there the manufactures often have dioramas to show off. It is a great time to scope out deals and have a good time.

Hey, Andrew, where are you on the job?

I hope that some of you guys will take a lot of nice photos of the displays at the show and post these to the forum.

Some of us live too far away to make these shows on a regular basis.

Thanks in advance, Raymond.:)
