We are also very pleased to commence the pre-order with the next 10 figures of our Ancient Germans for our Glory of Rome figure range, sets ROM031-ROM040. A natural enemy for our Romans are the Ancient Germans of the period as though the Romans won many of the Wars, they were never fully able to subjugate Germany the way that they had most of their other enemies. As such, Ancient Germany remained the northern border of the Roman Empire. Throughout the period of late Republic and Empire, there were a series of wars and uneasy truces that would last until the late Empire when the Ancient German tribes were among the many who went on to sack Rome. Though designed as Germanic warriors of the Marcomannic Wars, these figures are perfect for such tribes as the Marcomanni, the Quadi, and so many others. In depicting them we have tried to keep them realistic by providing figures representing the poor warriors who would only have very basic weapons with little to no armor to the noble warriors who would have some heavier armor and better weapons. We have also given some of them pieces of captured Roman equipment that they would have picked up over the course of the wars. These figures will be shipping to customers and dealers worldwide late June/early July 2012.
