Well under way with my diorama of Roman campaign in Germania. The base is made of ply as there is a lot of weight with many figures. Styrofoam covers the ply wood and is raised at each end. I'm busy covering the bases with flock as the grass and scatter over the middle section. As this diorama is going to be permanent and with so many figures, I put a dob of silicon under the base to keep them in place otherwise one bump and they all fall over. Silicon can be eased up and can be removed at anytime. The section behind the Germans will have forest that the Roman cavalry will be attacking from. Greg.

Custom built is the way to go and this is looking real good Greg. Robin.

I can see it's going to look epic when finished Greg :salute::

I will be leaving this period in Roman history and concentrating on the Carthage period after this diorama Wayne. Already done a Carthage elephant, Roman elephant and Roman fort and looking forward to the JJD ships for something different. Regards Greg.

Wow! you have a battle brewing. Looks like the opening scene from Gladiator. Love the action in and around the fort. I look forward to more. Who made the onager?

Steve

A lot happening in life at the moment and will try to get back to my dioramas as soon as I can Steve. The opening scene of Gladiator was the inspiration for the diorama and more figures are to be added. The Roman catapult is a CS piece. Thanks for the interest. Greg.

Flipping heck Greg, you've done a good job with your forest scene.

If you get bored with the Romans winning you can reverse the scene to a Arminius / Varus type scene.

Steve
