Re: “ROMAN REINFORCEMENTS”
Hi Guys,
On return from my Aussie trip I visited Gordon in his Diorama Workshop and saw the simple grass base he had constructed for our Roman Fort.
In addition to the base there will be a detachable perspex case that will cover and protect both the base, the fort and its garrison when they go on display at our own King & Country Store in Pacific Place, Hong Kong.
Talking of the “garrison” in this photo you can also see, if you look carefully, FIVE soon-to-be-released Roman soldiers to accompany the first FOUR launched in February.
No less than NINETEEN more are currently in different stages of development for release in 2017 and into next year ... with more planned!
Among the upcoming ones seen here are a mounted Tribune ... an Aquilifer, the Eagle Bearer ... an Optio, the Centurion’s right-hand man and two more Legionnaries, one on guard and the other carrying his full kit and nicknamed the ‘Marius Mule’.
After so much modern warfare it’s a pleasant change to return to the wars and campaigns of Ancient Rome.
As Caesar himself said “VENI ... VIDI ... VICI!” Best wishes and happy collecting!
