Tom,

Appreciate the input and your opinion.

Thanks for taking the time to respond.

You are probably spot on about Ebay's audience allowing a seller to command a bigger price.

TD,

You are right, price will deoend on where you buy the sets and what someone will sell and pay for them. My values were maximum you can expect on eBay, I am sure as with any collectable prices will vary depending on availablity and peoples knowledge.

As has been said many a time on this forum, look around, find out the value of an item before purchacing. You my find it cheaper some where.

Good pick up at those prices.

Andrew

I question the highness of some of the prices only b/c I have recently run into these at shows and personally bought some. Ebay will always be higher b/c of the audience, but here are recent prices I have seen:

1. RR01 $65
2. RR03 $200
3. RR04 $90
4. RR05 $90

Those prices seem very low I would for sure buy more of these if I could first find them than get them at those prices.

I think everything has its cycles, also off of ebay, it will always be lower. When you are at a show with greenbacks in hand, it is amazing what the price will become!

IN all seriousness, at the Gettysburg show, these were there and myself and a fellow forum member bought some. You have to remember, these particular sets sat on shelves for quite some time before John became popular. They became rare when collectors went Jenkins crazy and wanted his first works. Funny thing is, these are NOT his first work. His first work is the K&C Normandy village (the original grey village) as well as the K&C Iwo Jima Mountain!

As always, this is a market of supply and demand and timing. As with anything, as time fades, so can value and I personally think the RR sets are in a decline, not to say that tomorrow they will not rise!!!!

You are probably right I just really like the figures especially the Indians!

I was that the other forum member that Tom is referring to. I have been collecting John Jenkins since the early days when BM-01, 02 and 03 were just sitting there and not selling well. It was not until a few years later I even found out that he done previous FIW sets. By then, it was too late!! I was happy to find the sets at a reasonable price after looking for so long. :D I am sure that there are other JJ collectors who are still looking.

Tom is correct that John made scenario sets for K&C, but the Frontline FIW were the first figures he made. I enjoy his unique colorful style and attention to detail and I think they will pass the test of time. Even though I like them all, to me, his best sets are the BOM British Grenadiers, Rangers and all of his Indian sets.
